In no way are cigars like durries imo. I've never felt like a ciggie after an occassional (once a year, tops) cigar. As long as you think you can handle it I think you're safe ... but only you know the answer to that.

And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

I have one a year, on new years.. (cigar). Something I started a long time ago. I haven't broken that tradition, but I must admit, it now makes me feel sicker than it did, and if anything, it reaffirms that my decision to quit smoking was a sound one

Ive been smoke free since starting this thread and going strong 8) . . . . and no, I havnt fallen off the wagon! . .

BUT ... as some of you know . .. . Im expecting my first child in April next year :kuda: and of course, the traditional cigar was always in the back of my mind.

WELL . .. as it happens, I actually got permission from" her that makes all laws" :? . . that this would be the one and only time that I could smoke . . . :?

THEN .. I happen to mention to one of my clients this, and what does he do? . .. Pulls out a box of Genuine Cuban friggn cigars!!! . .. Gives me one and says allow 3 hours and half a bottle of scotch for this sucker . .

Sooooooooo .......... having said all this, should I stick with the nil smoko, OR give in to this once in a lifetime endulgance . . .

Richo, what was the outcome of this dilemma?

Richo I'd never smoked cigars/cigarettes, in the middle east on leave we would have a beer while kicking back with a sheesha and relaxing.

I had my first cigar on return to Australia about 200Nm from home on our last night at sea to celebrate coming home from deployment, and the end of a gruelling 11 months of training and deployment. so celebrating is alll good :kuda:

Howdy . . so sorry, I havnt been on the ksrc for ages and feel so guilty about it . . . It's that bloody face book!

In any case . . Upon my beautiful daughters arrival, I got home, poured myself a nice 18 yrold Scotch and un-packed my Cuban.

After about three puffs I decided it was not for me 8) fuckin gross to be honest. That was 2 months ago and yeah, as you say . . It's been 2 years since the quit and all is going well ;)
