Septic is short for septic tank, which can be an aussie term for Yank (an American citizen)

Ahh Please allow me to field this one Uncle Sam! :)

Here in Oz we utilise a large amount of rhyming slang!

eg; Horse's Hoof= Poof (Homosexual/Fag/Ring stinger/rump thumper/pillow biter and the list goes on  )

So, hence "Septic Tank" means "Yank".

Now I will prob have to explain this one to you. Although in the good ole U s of A a "Yankee" is a southerner right???? Racist, slavery, african american hating KKK members Right?

Well here in Oz, all of you over there, north or south are "Yankees" to us or "Yanks" for short, or as said a "Septic tank" or shortened to Just "Septic" :)

Hope this clears things up for you?

Yeah and I agree with some of the others sentiments. Are you sure you're not a "to and from" ?????? (explanation= to and from is POM, which is abreviation of "Pommie" which although I cannot remember origin, refers to anyone from our mother coutnry England. So a to and from is an Englishman! You have a mighty sense of humour Uncle Sam!!!!!!!!

You are cracking me up,,,, Yankee is what a Southerner calls a Northerner. Southerners had the slaveryand all of that.

And to clear things up, I don't think I'm a Pommie, I've never been to England, I've been to Canada a few hundred times if that counts. I have lived a few places and I pick up on the lingo a little better than most I reckon.

Also further shortened to "Seppo". We like things that end in -o
e.g. Bottle-o = bottle shop (liquor store) - pronounced "boddlo"

I have heard that "Septic" is an insult (towards Americans) in the UK, but I don't know if that's true or not. Over here, rest assured it isn't derogatory and in fact is kinda affectionate - if we didn't think you were ok and could take a joke, we'd just stick to American or Yank - if we know you're cool and good for a laugh you'll get hit with "Seppo", or "Yank bastard"
Road: 2005 ZX10R - not named yet
Road: 2008 Z750 - Kwak
Track: 2006 ZX6R - Yoshi (with a very Genki undertail)

I guess I'am a little slow,,,,,

I broke my collar bone last week,, and to amuze myself I've been typing on the computer. If I have said anything to anyone to upset them, well that is not my intent and I'm sorry. I'm just bored to death and your country and culture interest me......

Now about asking me if I belong to any racial or religious stereotypes,,,that you could take the piss out of you for???? Dude, I'm just one man.

funny word stereotype,,, That is it,, lump me the indivdual in with the rest of them, common.......... lets take a break from the politics of the day. If I wanted that I'd watch cnn or fox news. I'm personally sick of it.

Hey seppo,

all is cool mate, hope you broke your collar bone coming off the bike, the only way to get injured, I reckon.

Pommie, or POHM, one idea is that it meant 'prisoner of His Majesty' being all the English that were transported here for petty crime.

I am in fact a pohm, been here thirty years, therefore my nickname is PC. An affectionate way used by Aussies to remind me of my heritage.

If you can't work out what the 'C' stands for I'll PM you. Can't use words like that on this forum.

I've got a saying mate, Relax, Re-coup, Repair and Remount.

cheers

Welcome to the board Unky Sam!

BTW re the seppo thing, it originally was very derogatory as in septic tank = is full of shit. Because that is what a septic tank does, holds your shit when you don't have town sewerage!

Although nowadays it appears to have lost that original connotation. Either way, dude hope you have fun in the crazy KSRC forums! BTW you'll have to let us all know if you manage to get out here for a holiday!

I did have a bike accident but it wasn't a Kawasaki (Honda XR50 stop laughing) so I won't talk about it here.

So your a POM huh, and I'm a Seppo.

If an Aussie were up here he'd be called Aussie, I reckon. Unless of course he was an asshole then he'd be called asshole. I guess us North Americans are a bit too simple for the likes of people like Strika.....
