yep they went really well.

lesson learnt for next time, make sure we go with a known brand scooter e.g. Aprilla. They were heaps fast in a straight line and I mean heaps faster

Big thanks to Wattie and Rus for inviting me along and letting me ride there scooter.

Unfortunately by the time I got on the damage had been done and things then got worse, with a loss of power (if you can call it that, and no idea why) tyre issues (rear completely stuffed at the 4 hour mark - who'd have thought, its just a bloody scooter.??) and the exhaust breaking off during my early morning stint - nfi...
Nevertheless we made it through, kept it upright (unlike most) for the full race and made it to the finish with the smallest team there and one of the cheapest scoots you can get..

Had a ball... the first "under lights" stint, took a bit of getting use to but the dark to light morning stint was great fun.

To keep things on par with some of the other teams, next year we need something like this..

Thanks also to Mojo, Tanya and Sulli for dropping in. We may have appeared preoccupied and / or tired, but we did appreciate it...

Yep agreed Dave, thanks you to Dave and Tanya (and Chris) for popping by and lending a hand, it was very much appreciated. Will def need a pit bitch or 2 next year.

A faster scoot is a must for next year as well.

It was a ball. Never bashed fairings and bar so much in my life and that's saying something for me ;).

I honestly think we must of been the only ones to not bin it over the 24hours. Some teams crashed almost 20 times and just picked it up and kept going.

The scooter handled great and handled well which allowed us to make up for a lot mid corner but the lack of power compared to the others just meant we just couldn't hold out for that long, esp once the bikes stock pipe went back on.

Bring on next year

The boys had a great setup there and I just liked being part of it for a few hours (that worklight doesn't hold itself!) We'll see what the go is next year, who's available to do what and pay for what. Maybe even a second scooter, but they had too many this year I think they'll be wanting to limit the numbers. We'll see. For now it was just good to see some KSRC shirts in Qld and I do promise to start getting back on here more often!
Cheers

We'll done lads.

Was that Gary McCoy on one of the Jetpilot scoots?

They had a serious power to weight advantage on the other bike. The little bloke looked like a jockey.

For next year I think you need a team dietician. Dave seems to understand power to weight but Russ and Wattie....... not so much :P
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.
