How's the suspension? it always seems that the first major thing i ever end up doing is buying a new rear shock and maybe doing the fronts (successfully put off doing the later for a few months now, christ i might do 'em tomorrow!)
but 3400 aint bad, was what i was going to pay for one in pretty tip top shape 8 or so months ago. New pictures? i expect them!

The suspension felt really good, as mentioned the front forks were done late last year so they feel good. Didn't notice any issues with the rear but it's hard to say on a bike you're not comfortable with yet! I will probably get picky with it and do it before long anyway.

Looks like a nice bike Shifty! Well done. My first impression of the GPz was when a mate blew past me on his when I thought I was going REALLY fast on my RZ250! I was flat out at about 180kph and sucked my eyebrows off at about 240! What a great bike!

They're not exactly a rocketship, but they certainly go well for something so ancient. I would actually have liked a GPZ750 Turbo but they're impossible to find, the GPZ900 was a more realistic option - and parts are more common too.

I have already investigated a ZZR600 front end (brakes/wheel), and assuming I can get the bits for the right price, I'll have a good choice of front tyres.

Well, picked up the bike tonight and rode it back - stuck to the highway most of the way as it was dark and cold, but once I got to some roads I knew I ducked off the highway for a slightly more interesting trip home through the suburbs.
Things I have noticed:
This thing has a cracker of an engine.
113hp is a shitload more than 72hp!
Those stock exhausts are surprisingly throaty!
It runs too hot in traffic. Thermo only comes on when the ignition is off.
The weight isn't noticeable at "around town" speeds
The weight is very noticeable when parking (or attempting to park
)
The gearbox is like new!
Hydraulic clutches take getting used to!
16" wheels are poo

Should just be a straight swap.
