I think your midfield has spent too much time in the tattoo parlour all the defence of a leaky collander...

Re: Collingwood v Hawthorn

even after that debacle - its not all bad. Pies are still in the top 4 a game clear of 5th with a % booster game coming up next weekend. West Coast are gone. Adelaide will host a preliminary final at home, WC will probably lose an away PF to Sydney in Sydney.
Its tight at the top.........oh yeh, Richmond to finish 9th - again - and be the best side out of the top 8 - again - for about the 20th season in a row !!

Don't worry Gos Collingwood 1990 premiers - 2010 premiers - 2030 premiers ?
Hawthorn still looked good even without Buddy & Geelong belted Essendon last night.
Going to be an interesting final series.

Hawthorn need as many tactics as they can afford to muster. No Buddy No Hawks when it comes to playing good sides - dribble and blah
Jonno I hope you got that 50-spot ready to go mate !!!!!
No Captain Hodge either.
Well......*long pondering pause* ......what can I say Gos that you haven't already

At least your not coming out with excuses because there are none

That was a typical display by the Hawks of recent months but I was disappointed in the last 10 mins where they took their foot off the gas and allowed the pies a few goals.
And $50 will buy a few bourbons next time

mate they won't even be in the 8 at the end of the h&a season. Have you seen their draw ?

Essendon @ Etihad (rewards fast-running sides that use all the ground) Like Geelong!
Crows @ home Winnable, not many teams comke close to us there.
Hawks @ MCG We have a GREAT recent record against the Hawks
Eagles @ perthWe have a good away record
Saints @ Etihad ( Saints kick arse here) We kick better arse, best record of ANY team at Etihad, saints are struggling to tie their shoelaces
Bulldogs @ home ( btw - this is the only game in the run home that is a guaranteed 4 points for the Cats) We'll moider the bums.
Swans @ home. As above, we are the ONLY Victorian team left in the comp with a genuine home ground advantage.

Lisgtening to SEN on the way in to work tonight, seems Tigers supporters are upbeat about next year, but I think they have been upbeat about next year since 1980..Gosling1 wrote:Its tight at the top.........oh yeh, Richmond to finish 9th - again - and be the best side out of the top 8 - again - for about the 20th season in a row !!![]()

I don't think anyone is writing the Cats off - they are just not the same side they were a few years ago. They are barely hanging in the 8, which is not a good look for any team that is defending a Premiership. On their day though, they can match the best, no issue. Its just that those days - are becoming fewer and further between.z900/zx9 wrote:......I agree with mick Geelong are not right offs.....
A Hawks/Swans GF would be interesting

What Geelong side are you talking about ? The one playing this year are the greatest players of corridor football in the AFL !! They are good at this when all the players are playing well - but this style of footy bites them on the arse when the skills go missing - just like they did when they got beaten by the Pies. Corridor football is not using all the ground Mickmick_dundee wrote:

yeh well Adelaide are playing heaps better football so on form alone the Crows get this win. Losing Tippett will be a big blow for them - this could tip the game in Cats favour. Home ground at Unskilled Stadium only matters against bottom 8 sides, which is what the Cats play there 9 games out of every 10. Cats rarely play the good sides at home.mick_dundee wrote:....Crows @ home Winnable, not many teams come close to us there....

best record of any team at Etihad ?? I reckon the Saints are more than capable of matching the Cats at Etihad. They are playing good - but inconsistent - footy. It really depends on which Saints side shows on the night.
No arguments there !mick_dundee wrote:......Bulldogs @ home ( btw - this is the only game in the run home that is a guaranteed 4 points for the Cats) We'll moider the bums........

Maybe. Swans can choke the life out of any team, and playing at Unskilled Stadium holds no fears for them. Remember that winning streak you had against those bottom-8 teams for a few years ??mick_dundee wrote:.......Swans @ home. Even being a Pieman, and doing the ladder calculator my way - yes, the Cats will still make the 8, but only on % against Essendon and Richmond. They will squeak in and may even win the first elimination final. But going any further will depend on who they come up against - and if it is the Hawks or Pies or Swans - bye bye Cats for 2012.mick_dundee wrote:......Geelong are FAR from a spent force!!!! It will be a great finals series any way you look at it. I just wish the Tigers could make the finals - very unlikely now....

Gos, get with the fucking program, Simonds stadium now, Skilled are old hat
And yes, thems the facts, the best winning percentage (as in games won from games played) at Etihad. 2008 we screwed up, won every game since against the Hawks but i'm sure we would gladly have that game back again if we could, as for the away record, 5 years ago we were struggling to beat an under 13 side out of Victoria, recently that has changed markedly, look at the last 5 years I reckon we have lost 2 maybe 3 games interstate.

Crows @ home Won this one too
Hawks @ MCG Hawks next

Cats have the hardest run home of any team currently in the 8. Saints & Roos are both currently playing better footy than the Cats and both have easier runs home.
Don't forget - it was only last weekend that the Cats struggled to beat the worst team in the comp by 2 goals !!! that is the form of a team that has a snowballs chance in hell of winning a GF this year.
