Re: Road riding boots
I bought Medal boots like ten plus years ago when I returned to riding, $300 and he custom makes them to fit your leg, old guy long retired now (if not dead) sadly, he had the Aus post and Vic Police contract too, he makes the whole boot, go to whoa, NOT a moulded sole and he says because I make the whole boot any part you break I can fix, pretty much waterproof, had rain in them twice I think in ten plus years, no toe sliders or fancy shit, just a boot with a zip and press stud flap.
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
Re: Road riding boots
Just went from a pair of RST TracTechs to Alpinestars Supertech R's.
The stiffening plates in the RST's were broken in 4-5 places and only had 2-3mm of rubber on the toes and shank of the soles. Not too bad, but still not enough performance for $200.
The Supertech R's - super comfy and with the protection on the inner bootie, nothing to snag on the bike.

Re: Road riding boots
Supertech r's are an awesome boot.
But a bit full in for commuting and stuff.
