She'll just get a slap on the wrist at that age, unless of course the magistrate has been reading this thread

I think speeding is the biggest offence here in Australia. And to her misfortune, she was speeding. I hope the magistrate is reasonably strict with his/her decision. Letting her off would set a bad example.

Well she invoked that automatic NSW jail sentence law? by running from the police in a chase, that wont sit well with any judge although a suspended sentence may be the outcome and a control order for assessment/ counselling which may be the perfect outcome for all. Hopefully that is the metaphorical smack around the ears to wake up to herself, I suspect she is hanging with other out of control kids and removing her from their influence will also help.

What a nightmare.
I like Nelsos idea that she needs to be totally separated from her environment - like what you see on 'Worlds strictest parents'.

Corporal punishment does not work it only creates fear. Fear should not be a tool to keep people on the straight and narrow. Worse still at what age do you stop hitting someone. It didn't work with the Romans and the slaves they used and it won't work here.
The parents need to seek professional help, this child is disengaging from society and needs to find a way to connect.
Find something that they are motivated by and expand on that. You are better in life to try and be good at something you enjoy rather than enjoy something you are good at.

Lets hope the wake up call hits the mark and the situation is used as a fresh start with better choices.
Do you know how she's holding up?
RE: Whacking
The thing is when they brought in the no smacking rule, they didnt provide parents/society with effective alternatives

curious to know why the medicos refused police any access to the girl even though she was not injured, apparently cops had to force the access issue in court yesterday?
From her age i'm guessing a lot of this started shortly after starting high school, and the kids/scumbags/oxygen theives she's hanging round with are not helping. I'd be considering changing schools.

What?
Fear is and always has been the only thing that changes behaviour.
It's softcock attitudes like this that have us in this fucked up situation in the first place!!!!
Are you a parent? are you in any way in touch with reality?
"Professional help"?????
What the fuck are you on about for christs sakes!!!!!!
and the Romans built a huge Empire based on fear!!!!
