Re: Any suggestions on footwear?
smx5's are a good all round boot for road riding, plus not too uncomfortable to walk in, good choice. if you get into racing later on though you will want something with more protection.
get some draggins too, I've come off before and although they don't have padding they will stop any abrasions caused by sliding down the road. I slid for about 100m when I came off at 110kmph and the draggins didn't even tear through to the kevlar - I still use em from time to time. if you're into skinny jeans you'll wanna get either the slix or biker style of draggins, they are more expensive but fit better for me.

Re: Any suggestions on footwear?
ok, i know i have big feet (UK 15, US 16, EU 49), and in my community this is normal (mostly islander people like Samoan, Tongan etc). so what planet do boot makers live on? is it a mythical land of mini people, or some bizzare world of pople with bound feet?
The biggerst I can find are eu 46, ok if i wanted to cut all my toes off, and even then my feet wouldnt fit.
so, does anyone know where to get, or the name of someone who makes human sized boots, as my steel cap safety boots work ok, but are no good for a track day; and i wanna do some track days!

Re: Any suggestions on footwear?
I know Alpinestar make a 48 because I tried one on a few years ago. I have seen some rediculously tall people riding at the track so I would assume you could get 49's pretty easy, you would just have to order them in.dickfaber wrote:The biggerst I can find are eu 46

Re: Any suggestions on footwear?
my son has your size feet and he got big alpinestars from peter stevens clearance centre in Melbourne. needed to try them on as the big ones don't seem to be true to size. they have big boots in the clearance centre as they are the ones they couldn't sell in the main store. they have 48s and 49s listedNelso wrote:I know Alpinestar make a 48 because I tried one on a few years ago.
