Phil, what is 2.5-5 oil???? isnt it either 2.5w OR 5w or did you mix it together? Are these the Promechas modified ones like the Woose????

Pretty sure the bottle had 2.5-5, I thought it weird at the time . No they arnt Promecha modified, they are Glen Willing modified

Nice , I bet you'll notice the diff, mainly cause we have the older style fork that skilled technicians like Mr Mudford will really be able to work their magic on.

Thanks for the reply Phil, you guys with the earlier leg are lucky, i hve the late (2008) which have been "Promechaed", lot better on the big stuff at high speeds but still shite IMO on the small choppy stuff if going at a reasonable pace, I am looking into Racetech valves and some machine work to fit them. Bike is excellent for what it is but does need some really great suspenders to finish it off, might have to get my wallet around to shelling out some more....although my Z1 seems to eat most of it!

Agreed, have you priced the TD cartriges? With the $ they it is I think there is plenty of info on the on the ZRXOA

My "Promechaed", ZRX is exactly the same, great on high speed stuff, but choppy/shitty roads just dont feel good. But it never does anything silly, it feels like crap, but thats it, it still holds its line, & is unruffled. I think its more a feeling thing, than a problem that you have to through money at...????

Yep, sure will. As I said previously, now I have a rear end which keeps the tyre on the ground, it is highlighting the inadequacies of the forks..........

I might see if Steve is willing to fit High and low speed compression and rebound to them for me. Trevor Manly did this with my ZX6R and it works brilliantly. But not sure if Steve has done this type of thing before. We will see. Either way it won't matter, they will be better.

I have been looking at the Ohlins and others cartridge replacements, BUT, will then need to fit other shocks, not sure i can afford it, or want to commit that much $$$, its ok but i would like it better is all.

The oil issue is another thing, I had the Promecha job done, spent a while fiddling, including upping the oil level a little after softening the settings off, improved again but i reckon it has TOO MUCH rebound now, little too much slow speed and TOO MUCH high speed rebound, if that makes sense? I intended to go to lighter fork oil as the Dohmecha guys told me they used 10wt oil, glad i double checked as they now say 2.5wt, i will pull apart eventually and get it tested, i am hoping they DID put 10wt or 5wt cause i can then go 2.5wt which might get it to where i need it, either way i am a fiddler, takes time but will fiddle til i either get it wherre i want it or sell it! LOVE the look and the engine but the suspenders are proving a challenge, challenge mainly cause i dont want to throw them n the bin and start again!!! Terry Hay is happy to cut the cartridge and modify to fit Racetech rebound valves but i am not sure another $600 will get what i want!

Will keep you posted as i progress though.
