I'm awaiting the arrival of my Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5.0 leathers. There was actually a really good write up on them in the last AMCN so for the amount of use mine will see, the occasional track day, I think I'll be pretty safe with them lasting a few years...providing I don't tip it over.....
I bougth them from the US of A for $765, free shipping.......I can't wait.

The tanning/splitting prosses would be the only differance in quality.triway wrote:Yep, thickness isn't everything, the quality of the hide used would be more important to me. Thickness just makes it harder to move in.
Hides are hides, the only difference in the raw product is marking on the hide (barbed wire, cuts, discoloration)
Have you ever looked at someone and thought.

hahhaha your words not mine NelsoNelso wrote: Oh the irony. When I said I knew people who repaired leathers who were appalled at how poorly JR was made, who knew you would use pics from their website to support your view that JR are ok.
The truth is that none of the major brands would get away with consistently selling shit and there's plenty of people perfectly happy with their JRs. We've seen some howling errors from many of the major brands though and it's hard not to develop preferences and dislikes.
