My old flatmate always said he didn't want a girlfriend who rode, the bike was always his thing, the "me & my mates" thing again. He rarely would pillion them as well. I can understand that to a degree too, but still nothing wrong with girls on bikes in general

I'm with you Pinchy! A sexy girl on a sexy bike makes me all gooey!!!! :D If they are FAST.....it's even sexier!!!!!!      I'm trying to talk my new girlfirend into having a lash at it! She drives like a nutter, so a bike might be up her alley! But, she is a bit of a princess, so may not agree with the comfort factor! Fingers crossed!

A girl to go riding with would be awesome. But, and it's a big butt....no pun intended.....they would have to be a competent rider, as I would soon get sick of it if I had to sit on a compromised speed and was not able to enjoy the usual, or at least a competent, pace. In a group it wouldn't matter as there is always enough to riders corner mark.

I'm pretty happy with my wifes efforts on a bike at the moment. She just pillions very occasionally. No tagging along so my rides are just for me. selfish? probably, but i don't give a shit!!

Well my very good femme friend has been riding since she was 16 ... First bike was a 900 Bol dore in NT. This progressed to a track bike / racing competitively at Hidden Valley and so on. When she moved to QLD of course the abundance of beautiful roads fuelled the passion and honed her abilities.

Apologies for the intro but the point is this woman has been riding for a hell of a long time and a bike has been her primary transport most of those years.

This woman and many like her have put up with the chest beaters that are normally in force at ride meets , pubs , rally's etc most of their riding life. I think it is piss funny that when the woman finally snaps and throws down /accepts the challenge , the majority of blokes who fit the anti women rider type either cower away or make a complete dick of themselves by being TOTALLY outclassed by women who actually CAN ride!!

As for "me" time ,,,, piss poor excuse ... yeah blokes need time out / bloke time / shed time etc same as women need their own space from time to time. [which is why God invented Kitchens    ]...(runs for cover) :P but to not want a woman because she rides and or not encourage a woman who shows interest is pretty gutless IMO

IMHO any bloke who feels genuinely threatened by female riders for nothing more than their gender is probably battling with his own self esteem issues on and off the bike

Oh and female motorcylists (like female horse lovers) are generally more 'interesting' in bed    (just an observation) :kuda: :kuda: :kuda:

Interesting thread. I say each to their own!!! Just because a girl rides and her guy also rides doesn't mean that they have to ride together or want to ride together.

My partner rides (hey bebe love4.gif) but we almost never ride together. Some people find this odd but for us it works and I can't imagine it any other way. I suppose it depends a lot on the type of person you are outside of riding and if you were both riders when you first got together.

......get back to the garage where you belong and fix my bike boy! There you go......there's one to balance up all the 'woman in the kitchen' comments

I love it that Mrs Tree rides. Actually, we got our licences at the same time. She understands the passion that drives bikers and (I believe) is more inclined to allow money to be spent on the bikes than a non-biker wife would.

Just to add, I don't believe in "boys only" rides. What with the need to segregate???

Well being a girl myself think this boy attitude sux a bit.. I ride with guys and dont feel I slow them down at all...
I was the one in my household that had the midlife crisis and decided to get my licence much to my mans horror!
I got the lectures that I was going to end up road kill etc etc...
He came along to the introductory 3 hr course learning about bikes (hoping I would change my mind) after that he said no way..He wasnt getting his licence...
The course only confirmed my thoughts and made me keener than ever...
I went forth and got my learners licence ..
At the time all alone as I knew no-one else with a bike...
After a little while he decided if he wanted to see me... (keep an eye on me) he had to get his licence too.. so that he did..
But alas after getting our provisional licences he found a new love... Archery.. there goes Saturday riding together...
So I still go riding with my new found friends.. male and female alike... I have never come across any guys that arent happy to ride with me
Give us girlys a chance... we arent all bad when it comes to riding... Maybe you are all just scared we will show you up!
Altho I must admit I do hve a friend that can be quite painful to ride with!! I do like to go over 75k's somedays!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Scotch in one hand , body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO -What a Ride!
