I gues while we're banging on about tires, I curently have dunny q's fitted and once they die I have no plans to revisit them, that being said, the sportmax touring tire looks pretty good, anyone know much about em? Never hear em mentioned but that doesn't necessarily mean they are shit...

Jono's a fan of the Roadsmarts. I've got Road 2CT's front and rear and I love 'em. Though the only other tyre I've ridden on was some proddy-spec Diablos on my old 250 Bandit which are a bit out there and not really comparable.

Yeah, the Dunlop Roadsmarts are great. I got reasonable mileage out of my last set despite running the pressures way too low, and grip was excellent for weekly knee-down peg-scraping antics on my private enclosed testing road. I just put another set on - first time I've ever used the same type of tyre twice in a row

Well, We just got back from a 1991 km road trip and I tried everything to make the pilot road 2ct's let go, they were pushed to the very edge of the tyre in 180km hr sweepers, smashed and bashed in bumpy ranges that had the back end wanting to pass me under hard front braking plus, for those QLD aussies out there, we crossed from the NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY to the PACIFIC HIGHWAY 4 times, including the infamous oxley highway and never once did these things look like letting go. My mate was on a speed tripple with sports tyres and I was either in front or on his as# all the way, so just buy em. They are AWESOME and don't even look worn, where his are shredded. All that way and the only fine we got was 50km from home for crossing a double line $180 3 points. F##K EM.

Funny thing with mine is, the back tyre has a line which almost looks like a join mark that is in the centre of the tyre and all the way around ? I haven't seen that on a tyre before ??

the line you speak of Peter is quite normal in Michelin tyres.. its like a join, slightly off centre. 8)
