Take two (frig i hate that save button)

I bought the tank bag last time around and it was brilliant. Would come down to a backpack. You could also take the little front bit off just to carry your wallet in too. I lost it when a moron did a uey in front of me and I came off, when I used to commute to work. I didnt' replace it as I don't commute now. I ended up buying one of those mini tank bags which hold ya wallet, phone and other small things, like girls carry. lol

I bought the bike cover too, it's been brillant also. This time around I bought the socks, wore them last sat. They were good, coz since my prang im nervous and sweat, so the socks were pretty good.

I bought the rain jacket and pants last time too, though never worn the pants, XL if anyone's interested in buying them, (the pants).

Cheers

Lisa

hmm, perhaps i ought to think about the bike cover too. But then again the only times it is outdoors is when im riding it somewhere. Work parking is undercover, home parking is undercover....

My home parking is undercover as well, but still have a cover on it.

I bought the tank bag and cover last Friday. We have demolished the garage and in the process of building a new one so the bike cover will come in handy. $70 for the two is a pretty good price but I still had to convince the wife it was a good deal. :?

I went and a had look at some of the stuff, I bought some gloves, boots and wet weather touring pants.

Gloves seem to be good with all the right stuff in the right places, I've seen cheaper/nastier gloves in bike shops. The boots appear comfortable and very strong in construction. I will use this gear for the odd occasion I have a pillion, at least they will have some thing decent on their hands and feet.

Touring/water proof pants will be good for winter, I reckon they will be nice and warm, some armour in the knees and will fit over my draggins well and will do the job nicely in the wet.

Didn't bother with the jackets as I already have a couple of Dririders in the wardrobe.

Didn't think much of the socks, kidney belts or bike locks.

They also had bike covers as well. The tank bags seem good and were very popular. 20 litres with heaps of storage space and at 50 clams I thought they would be good value. I had to tell myself I already have enough luggage.

I got there at 8:45 for a look as I was at Carindale anyway hoping to get the jump at the Medicare office when it opened. By then I got the last pair of XL gloves, most of the pants were gone, larger sized jackets were gone and tank bags were literally walking out the door.

I know this type of stuff doesn't suit everyone but if your interested, the gear goes quickly.

I returned my boots yesterday. The zip on one boot would jam about 1" from the bottom. Once you got the zip past the jam they would zip up easy but the zip would pull apart where it had previously jammed. I've read on some other forums that some people have had similar issues with the boots.

If it wasn't for the zip I still reckon these boots would be good value for money. I can't fault the wet weather daks I got and the gloves are excellent value.

Aldi had no problem whatsoever giving me a refund - no hassles - girl didn't even take them out the bag for a look.

Carindale still has bike covers and tank bags left.

I got a pair of boots, a couple of pairs of socks, and a pair of gloves.

The socks are great - best bike socks ever.

The gloves.....a bit tight, however they seem to be wearing in OK. And once I dyed all the gay red out of them with a black dye, they look 100% better.

The boots ? They are a good cheap commuter boot. Cheap being the operative word. The zip mechanism on mine *looks* a bit dodgy, but so far they seem to zip together and apart without any problems. Even if the zip failed, the velcro on these babies is more than enough to keep them together. The toe slider position on my boots was completely wrong, so I just unscrewed the sliders and have left them off.

But for $69 ??? Great value just for commuting - my Sidi's were getting a flogging on the daily grind to/from work, so can now get a rest and only be used for track days - as it should be .

listen fags...you dont need to go to fuckin Aldi to fight for cheap bikes gear..

there is.. down the front of your Flano for carrying gear, like a 6 pack of Beams, instead of a gay looking tank bag.

there is.. Lowes Flano's and tracky dacks for riding gear.

there is.. Steel Cappers for protective footwear, and if ya need gay aldi socks that make you look like your bert newton's lovechild.. then ya need a fuckin upppercut..

And if ya get cold in ya Flano...fuckin layer up with another Flano..

HTFU Poofs !!

Fags and poofs eh? I'll let you know when Aldi has a helmet sale, you can get 2, one for each head.

And thanks for the heads up (x2) on the flanno. I'll buy one for you and your sister as a wedding present.

I'm glad i got a second pair of boots last year, this years ones didn't seem that fantastic, also the gloves ARE a bit tight for the right fit, especially on the ends of the fingertips. Glad to hear they're loosening up, i need to use mine a fair bit more and wear them in as aside from feeling a bit tight, they are a great fit.

*wonders if they have any more bike covers still, got told today were relocating to an outdoor parking spot as of tomorrow, not a months time like i expected*
