Just got some online quotes. Insure my ride was $1100 for comprehensive insurance for a just fully licenced rider on a GSXR600 with $12K agreed plus $1K mods. Gear and valuables cover is optional, but I don't want it. Track use not covered but training days are.

ebike about the same - almost exactly.

QBE - waiting for a quote.

Shannons - get this - $2700, or $2098 if I promise to ride it 2-3 days PER MONTH. That is crazy.

Shanons wont cover me........ I ride my bike.... they dont seem to like that...

I told them that I would only ride it on days that I have an accident if it would make them feel better. But that didnt help.
The world is round. It has no point.

As far as claims go, QBE were good. They have a network of recommended repairers, but if you don't like one it's easy to go to another.

The assessor come out fairly quickly, prices were quite close to what I considered the overall bike value and they agreed the repair. Either the write-off value is a higher percentage than I thought or the market value of the bike was higher.

When I purchased the 10R their price was also really good (for someone who'd claimed 8 months earlier)

i just rang shannons to cancel my insurance, when they asked why i said "it was out of rego, and i was going to turn it into a track toy" they said no probs we can offer you insurance for it that will cover it if stolen or comes off trailer to or from the track for $200 so i went this option and i still have all my gear covered if stolen from my garage

I just got the qbe quote - $980 - I am going to go with them. They give credit for your car rating, which is rating 1 for me.
