I crashed on that corner about 7 years ago  . I stuffed my bike and my sholder in a nice high side. I have also been behind two bikes whom have crashed at the same spot. Needs a 45km sign put up.

I believe one of those bikes was a certain roo killing ZX9r when it crashed at the same corner doing 5km/h.

My wife was really lucky, it would have been worst given the road condition. Yes, the corner was not too far from Audrey - I would say about 5 mins ride from there.

I believe the road has been re-surfaced recently, however has not yet been sealed properly, there were still a lot of loose gravel on the surface. We have been told by the Rangers that this is a popular spot for motorcycle accident, the RTA should have done something about it.
they did do something about it - made it more dangerous

Well the bad news is, it's a write off. Insured for $4K, excess of $400 and the repairs are going to cost $3600 +.

I'm not going to bother buying another one now as I was going to upgrade anyway and won't get much for $3600. Will wait for house to be sold and then go shopping :D can't wait to test ride some new bikes !!

Shame about ya bike jen.. When I looked at it front instament frame and panel was bent, warped front rotar, whole upper fairing cracked, all blinkers gone, exhaust dented and the tank. Thats just on the surface. So no wonder its a write off.
Hope ya get back on the bikes soon. :(
Gotta love an upgrade...
