you've heard right - they look a bit *loose* from behind.......(sounds like some chicks I used to know....)chuffed wrote:The only problem with a fast tag is that they are sprung loaded to keep the plate in the *cough* normal position and they tend to flap/rattle/move when you hit a bump.
So i've heard.

I have to agree, I had one and it did flap about a bit so I jerry rigged a another spring to stiffen it up. Worked a treat too, just don't get caught with one, all the times I was pulled over not one of the law enforcement officers even took notice.chuffed wrote:The only problem with a fast tag is that they are sprung loaded to keep the plate in the *cough* normal position and they tend to flap/rattle/move when you hit a bump.

The problem with the fastag was in the mounting, I had to really butcher the undertail/rear fender to make it fit which created another potential problem with the 45 degree rule ADR requirement even with a hugger, so if Officer-Anal went over my bike it would be on the back of a truck immediately.
Good for ghost riding, in fact if you want it for it's intended use just remove ya plate altogether since you are illegal anyway and "doing the runner" with it and the fine for the missing plate (sorry orifcer it mustave fallen orf and took the rego tag with it) would be far less I think?
I think everyone is missing the BIG picture. The coppers aren't completely mindless. They are normal people as well and I know a few that own a couple of nice bikes apart from the ones they ride everyday. If you're going to send around all this crap about how to beat the system, email it to each other and don't blurt it out for everyone to find out. They will only start pulling everybody over.
I get to the speed limit as quick as I can but rairly venture over it (only unknowingly). I enjoy being able to go for a ride and not having to worry about getting a ticket. I have all 12 points and have never lost one while riding a bike. I know too many people that have lost their lives because it was their fault. (too fast, not taking notice).
I have a bike that reaks of 'pull me over, I'm illeagal' but I don't seem to get done. I have a lot of cops follow me, punch in my rego, see I've got 12 points and drive off.
Beat the cops quietly, don't tell them you're coming.

Try making it before you buy it.
