I think RR are a great team but the mechanic is SHIT! Have to agree with wisc on this big time. Had my bike at RR a while back, was a different mechanic at that time. Cost a heap and wasn't to impressed with the results. About a month ago I took it to Dynoverks thanks to Blue14s recommendation and I was blown away! They dad an amazing job and the bike feels like it's been transformed from a 600 to a 1000!! It really made that much difference and it cost me a lot less than what I payed at RR!! If you need to buy stuff go to RR, but if you want your bike tuned without getting f@cked over take it to Dynoverks they really know what they're doing unlike RR. I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks, that's just my experience!

LOL, scathing! but yeah, the ride home last night and the ride to work this morning ... the bike is running amazinly better, if i have major issues in the future and i don't want to risk taking it somewhere that may screw me around I'll be taking it to dynoverks.

Hey Lainie,
Tell Chris to head hunt Deno and his nurse for the workshop section, he really knows his stuff. Though the mechanic work shop section isn't run by Chris is it?

whats the nurse guys name again at dynoverks? he is really cool too, makes you coffee, cleans your bike, and generally helps out.

good team.

according to RR I have a few cylinders running at 30psi too... haven't checked up on it, I'll get round to once I can't keep up with everyone else anymore.

very interesting to hear that 2 others have had exactly the same experience and in both cases it was a load of shit.

was that 30psi or 130psi? big difference, the former means they are fugged and need new rings/hone, valves or head gasket or any combination thereof. the latter means its just down a bit on pressure, but nothing to write home about.

Well the mechanic at RR tried to convince Wisc he needed a rebuild and charged him for setting the floats on his carbs. Then he took it to Dynoverks who said there's nothing wrong with the compression after testing it. And found that the floats had never been touched as they were a fair bit out!!!

So at the mechanic at RR charged him for work that he didn't even carry out! The guy's a crook and obviously doesn't know what he's doing!

yep I don't care how friendly the others in the store are. If I can't trust them then I'm not going there for anything.

Reminds me of Goodyear tyres in Sunshine years ago. Everytime someone would buy tyres and want a wheel alignment they were told the balljoints were shot ! went on for years !

Maybe they should get a new compression gauge !

Nikos,
get the test done again & record the readings -
remove tester and squirt in about 10ml of engine oil into the barrel before redoing compression test
If they are higher than before then your barrel/pistons need doing.
If the results are the same then get your bloody shims done
