I avoided her but how she did not hit the bloke behind me
I have no idea

a candidate for a funeral that one
Now here's something that I myself would allow people to get court with once for a hefty fine, second time take away the licence for min 12 months. Harsh,?? maybe but effective..........I think it's time for effective...

Well my opinion is .......... the cause i can attitude
you talk on the phone cause you can
speed cause you can
ride in between cars cause you can

i have found that lately i've had a lot more close calls with bike riding between the work truck and other cars as i'm traveling to a from work
honestly if i didnt ride myself i wouldn't se them

and working at the westgate now thats an education all on it's own
from what you see in the service station to what is happening entering it or on the westgate fwy itself

i seriously think that people are just stupid or rude
people need to be a little less in a rush or just relax
get off the phone
stop reading the book (yes reading a book next to him at 100k)
or just stop cutting in front of the truck and braking hard
i could list heaps more

and dont get me started on what i see riders doing ........ temporary is an understatment
guess i'll just keep paying the rising costs of rego gone are the days of $68 rego
$501.20 now $425.00 TAC shit hey

attitude / stupidity ?

there were 3 fatalities (cars) out around bathurst-blayney-orange this weekend, all early morning going by the news, I drove through the area on Sat morning (6am) it was -5 in bathurst and the road was white with ice and in the lower valleys the road went through fog reduced the visibility to about 20-30metres, but there were still cars flying along at the speed limit (100 & 110) so its not too difficult to imagine what happened.

QUOTE " Its not speed that kills its the sudden stop"
How many trees have you seen with crosses on them ??
BUT THE BLOODY THING IS STILL THERE !!

So why do people die?
Because they hit solid objects.
Trees, trucks etc.
So how do we stop it, get rid of the roadside solids, split the highways.

Costs money but, doesnt make it......
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

2) most people think their car is an extension of their
...kitchen, their bathroom, not something that can kill them

I have seen people in cars..have breakfast, shave, apply
makeup, do their hair, carry on a conversation
do anything
BUT concentrate on the task of driving ( and keeping out of a morgue)

Yeah have to agree with that one Smitty.

I heard about a motorcycle cops riding down the Monash the other day and there was a woman Knitting while driving along. The cop pulled up along side the woman and shouted "Pull over"

The woman wound down the window and said "no ...it's a cardigan"...
I live with fear everyday but on weekends she lets me ride.

mike-s wrote:As a comparison, go down towards wollengong, 9/10 drivers KNOW you stay in the left lane unless your overtaking someone. I've sometimes just stayed dead on the speed limit and watched cars come whizzing up behind in the left lane, merge right, overtake, merge back and away we go.

Generally it's only when you get north of Waterfall that things go to shit.

yes wollongong drivers are more aware, and i dont know why hit helensburg and the moving into left lane doesnt happen any more.

i would say.

INEXPERIENCE, both with variety of conditions both road and environmental, and also, with new vehicles.

I truely think that most ppl tend to drive or ride outside of their comfort zones and find themselves in all sorts of trouble, stupid thing is that they still don't learn from their mistakes
