Well bike goes to powerhouse at Nerang on Wednesday (dyno tune inc re-jet and fit/set adjustable ignition advancer). Steve has come highly recommended, and can do it before this weekends ride. Will let you know how it goes.
Paul.

bloody oath, i know how you feel, it all sounds great, however, I've never had a slipper clutch, so I'm not missing anything

besides, nothing like a bit of backend slide while changing down gears to wake you up in the morning

Yer not sure? If it runs like pooh (which it should do after installing a full akro system) it hasnt had it done, if it runs great it probably has.... a carborated bike will run really badly when too much airflow is introduced...

Well, you could check the needles, because the dynojet needles look different than the standard needles.... They will be adjustable, and so they will have a small grooved washer thingee that allows them to move up and down... Which the standard ones dont have (otherwise there is no point in putting them in).

Picked up the 7 from Powerhouse. Made 114.5 peaking at 11000rpm. Any other 7's been dyno'd, curious how mine compares. Pic of dyno sheet under general discussion.

Mina siad "what needle are u blokes talking about, how about a proper explaination please. "

Sorry Mina only picked the question up today....
In my case. I dont know if the standard needles had grooves around the top to raise and lower the needles or not. Sounds wierd if they didnt but.
Aftermarket needles generally differ in the taper, that it the original may have had a constant taper but a/m needle may be "flat" in the middle part.
IF you think of it as a "tap" that allows the fuel through it may help.
IF I had a bit of paper it would be VERY easy to explain.

ANYWAY, my input is that Dave Holdforth at Sydney Dyno (who should know as he is a dealer) said that Dynojet had a (large) batch of needles come out that werent smooth but rather notched down the taper due to faulty machining. After a time they actually "filed" the jets out !!!!!

SOOOOO if you have ever put Dynojet needles in and over time it got "fluffy" it MAY be the cause.
