I have 1 question in regards to this:
since the zx7r has the 6inch rim, most bikes with 180/55 rears a 5.5 inch rim, would putting a 180/55 on a zx7r not improve the turn in?
ie because of stretching the tyre to fit over a wider rim will flatten it?
Just that the 190/55 arent commonly available and I enjoy the extra nimbleness the taller profile rear gives and am thinking of trying 180/55.
Would this then be a waste of switching to 180/55 if it doesnt raise the rear as you would expect a 55 to do.

I want to know if a 180 will make any difference at all!
When you went from 190/50 to 180/55, did you go from same brand/type tyre to same brand/type tyre?
If you didnt then how triangular the tyres were may have made the difference in handling. If you did have same brand/type then obviously the 180 doesnt spread flat.
Instead of making "im not a frikken tyre fitter" comments think through the situation and use ur brain to figure out a way to answer questions intelligently.
We are all here for the same purpose and this is a technical discussion!

Obviously i'm not here for the same purpose as you. Just dont appreciate having my post rejected by you simply reposting the same question, when I actually wasnt answering your question at all considering you didnt start the thread.
I went from dunlop (190) to a bridgy (180) difference was amazing. The profile of the tyre was completely different, and was not flat by anymeans.
Now pull your head in!!.
