Stop going on about the cable ties. Half my race bike is held together by them. They are great. But look if that's not your scene, you can always use my other alternative, Duct tape!

nothing wrong with modifying throttle cables. I had an old stroker that used an oil pump. The throttle cable was in 3 peices, throttle to junction box, junction box to carb and junction box to oil pump. The junction box used to jam in damp conditions, so I mixed oil in fuel and removed the junction box and oil pump.

Throttle cable was now a problem - so I took a BMX brake cable, cut it to length and added a blob of soilder on the end where it went into the carb slide - gave me years of faithful service.

If your throttle assembly is the same as a G zx6r you can use the tube for a klx650. Cost me $23 and works a treat. It's quick but not race on/off quick and I can now be cruising along and whack the throttle wide open without moving my hand around the grip first. :D

And my radiator is still only held in by Zip ties.
It is a HELL of a lot stronger than the original Kawasaki mounts (that lasted a week) and I have not heard a noise from it since.
When I DO get around to putting in that new rad Kwaka sent it will be modded, riveted, glued and FINALLY all them bloody zip ties will go back.

No there is NOTHING zip ties can not do.

My pocket bike is branded the "Zip Tie Xpress"

Duct tape just dont cut it, nylon lasts forever !!!

LOL! Zip ties rule guys for sure ! i use them all the time and have loads stashed under my seat. On the subject of quick throttles, my '90 zxr750 H2 throttle seems really 'quick'. looking at the end of the bar it moves from fully closed to fully open in about 60 degrees. seems small movement to me. my mates r6 takes about twice that much. Cant see anything that looks 'non standard'. just wondering if they were made like that ??

Just for an aside...........If you want a 1/4 turn or quick action throttle, jump on ebay and have a look at the stuff for pocket bikes. A mate of mine has one on his road bike that he purchased from there.

They are 1/4 turn throttles made for pocket bikes, but they are pretty good quality, very cheap, and work exceptionally well. As an added bonus they look bling!!!! He got one with a trick alloy housing that looks like sumfink of Valentino or Loris' bikes!!!! :D
