.....Hemi, i was going to ask you if you wanted it before i went ahead and sold it elsewhere we really gotta talk about moving closer to each other ......Yadda yadda stuff about gathering dusty 9R engines yadda yadda...
Tell me about it. It could work too, we could continue to swap and trade parts and electronics unhindered by transport logistics, further modify and bugger our bikes, and our respective missus' could spend all day chatting about premmie babies and other girly stuff like tampons and recipies and clothes dryers or whatever it is they talk about.....
bwahahahahhahahahahahaaa
so nothing better than getting the other half occupied for trouble free bike/car butchering. i think we're onto something. are you a beer person? rum? bourbon? thats the only thing i think we've gotta work out before we go ahead with this mate

I'll be interested to hear how you go, If you go ahead.
Stace
just outta curiosity
where did you pick up that???
I have been watching a few of the auctions over the past
few months...nuffing
don't wanna throw the 12 round a track...so still suffering
750 withdrawal symptoms and wouldn't mind a track bike
hence the interest
It was in a smash repairs yard in Ballarat after the crash. It had been written of by the insurence company and was still there, Mind you you it was rooted. One side of the front wheel was torn off and caved into the hub. But its a start.

you know me price, if theres an easy way to do something, i'll find a way to make it harder
seriously tho, i rode the 9 and liked the power but didn't like the bike the way i liked the 7. hard to explain, but the thing just feels the way i wanted it to....
hah, true...
you rode a B series 9R tho, you gotta try a C onwards 9R, completely different bike.... if monday goes ahead ill give you a squirt on my 9R, it looks like shit and has a massively damaged frame but is still pretty much A1 tell me what ya think
if your going to kill a bronze, you gotta do it BIG!

is that the guy in wollongong ?
if it is i think he's had an add in the last amcn & 2 wheels
No, I didnt think it was woolongong. maybe he calls himself Motorcycle Weaponry? Hes somewhere in the northern beaches of sydney.
99, stace is on the money, the B model engine pretty much bolts in. and only makes a few PS less than the C model engine! theres a handicap of a few kilos tho.
Think this way though, bigger weight bias towards the front and that may help you keep the front down off the line & in corners. Might cause a bit of fun when braking though.....
Was looking at the same mod myself to my 7.
The front mounts have to be cut off and moved an inch.
The 7 and 9 had the same pipes BUT the prob is with the carbs/airbox
And then there is all the other little sh*t too
I'm still looking a free 9 motor as thats the only way I could afford it...
nice project
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD
OK, I've clarified with my mate who has had work done by this guy. His name is Ben Shaw and his business is called Extreme Creations and his shop is in Brookvale.
If anyone saw the crazy b@llshite red thing on the stage at last years motorcycle show at Homebush, that was it. Its barely recognisable, but it started life as either a zx7r or zxr 750 and now has a C model 900 engine in it, not to mention wave discs, streetfighter bars etc. Its awesome.
These sorts of conversions are only hard the first time, so I imagine he has all the templates required to do it again??
