I have fallen into some Half lived Metzler Racetech's 001's & been told I'll be lining up to pay $550 a pair after i've used a set. They better be good.
Brett, the guy who recommended me to get a set of Metz rennsports, which are the older spec version of the Racetechs, has just put a set of Racetechs on his bike. He says they are even better again than the Rennsports. I have Rennsports on the Hornet, and they have never let go apart from surface irregularities. I am getting 6k from a rear, and am yet to wear out a front, but would gestimate at least 10k from it. It's done 6k now and looks 1/2 worn. So 10 should be a conservative gestimate. :wink:

You can run them higher in pressure for the road, and they still grip well. I am running 34-36 front and 36-42 rear, depending on temps, and load. :)

I think Dunlops have had some really bad press, which was not quite as accurate as people would have you think. I have found them in the past to be as good as anything else out there (based on price and riding requirements), and am looking forward to fitting a new set of Qualifiers, as soon as the Pilots are *fully shagged* (won't be long now...)

the worst tyres available are better than 95% of the motorcyclists out there.......so don't believe the hype.

I have a set of the new qualifiers put aside for fitment next. But they are the harder compound ones from Japan not the US ones. They are a little harder apparently. (OEM tyres from an arsehix) :wink:

Yes, apparently Oz will be getting all replacement Dunlops from the US factory now, not the Japanese factory (except of course for OEM fitted tyres..) - and the US Dunlops are a fair bit softer than the Jap dunnies....

there have been some *shenanigans* at a high level with the importer ? or something like that.....I know Dunlop Australia are dead keen to try and get rid of the bad press surrounding Dunlop's, and see the new Qualifiers as the first step in a long process, to regain market credibility...
