thanx for all the welcoms guys

well i might see if i can get that ebay exhaust if i have some left over money after bike/stamp duty and new front tire. maybe a screen in a forthnight as well.

Mick: yeah i had an across for nearly 2 years, then the zinger for nearly 3.

Damon: dunno if i luv it yet, seems to be the goods though and it will do me for a few years until i get out of uni and and can buy my brand new GIXXER

infact i'll probably keep it for ever, just use it as a town thrasher and a track bike maybe....if i can afford the upkeep.

well i was kinda hoping that would be on the cards!

now answer honestly, do they handle well? i know a fella that used to own one and he said don't buy it as it handles like a barge. it felt fine when i rode it! it should handle as well as the zinger at least, the YZF600 was 182kg's dry and is 2 years older. add the grunt and even though the brakes will be worse it should handle just as well right. maybe? hopefully.

Damn good club you are joining. The 9 handles really well, and copes with track days and compares well with most for average daily commuting.

If you set it up to suit your weight, and use good tyres, you will find it handles really well. Its a kwakka 900 mate, its *gotta* be a good thing

well this all sounds very lovely, but who said i was a male? cuz then i guess it wouldn't be gay.

i guess when i ask on a kwaka forum about the 9's handeling i'm always going to get good reviews, but none the less i want to believe therefore i will. this weekend i should have it so i'll get the opportunity to test for myself. it seemed good enough on the test pilot though.

PM dave#3 about a stock can - he has one sitting in his garage he's trying to offload. Shouldn't cost too much to ship down I'd think.

As for the handling - you'll find better, but you won't find better that's comfortable too.
It doesn't handle like a barge, handles beautifully - but lets face it, it's not a physically small bike, others might flick a bit better.
The 9 is no slouch by any stretch of the margin - Phil regularly rounds up zx10r's on his '98 model that has >100000kms on the clock. They last forever and will do whatever you ask quite nicely. The 9 is one of the best all-rounders there is.

so the engine has a good life then? this ones got 45,000k on the clock. I know the fella i'm buying from through my old man. known him for a while actually and i know that he never really rode it hard, plus the mechanic said he was a no-expenses-spared kinda guy with maintenance, so he gave the thumbs up too.
i realise a well 600 would eat this, just wanted to make sure they didn't have handeling problems
