hmm well since ive had so many chances to try different approaches with the cops ive found none have worked...
one incident where i was driving down the freeway here (3 lanes) and i was sitting in the middle lane (left lane for trucks, right lane for overtaking) and could see a cop behind me, so i was sitting on 110 (was in a 100 zone but i thought 110 zone)..in ute..being safe...sum silly old bitty puts her indicator on from the left lane as im overtaking her and goes to merge into my lane..so i indicate & merge right...continue to get clear of her then merge left again (using indicator)...come up on this putz doing abt 80 so i merge right to overtake, then he speeds up ..so i move back into left lane....cop pulls me up for "erratic lane changing" and gives me this lecture abt how NSW drivers (was still on nsw rego & licence) cant drive for shit, and how dangerous i was being..couldnt believe it..was just plodding along knowing he was there...
he let me go, but geez i was pissed that he'd stopped me for no real reason...

i had a copper pull me over after a gig in the city and i was on my way home.
I'd just turned right at a major intersection (to go past the pub and see what left overs there were) then a car coming the opposite direction turns left comes up behind me and turns on the piggy lights.
Being a law abiding citizen, i pull over (after stashing my bag of pills down my pants
... joke). They come up and do the routine walk around the car and crap. He then tells me, do u know u forgot to indicate to turn onto this street. My answer was clear "No i didnt. Can u see if my blinker is working?". He checked, it was working fine. Did a licence check and that was it.
No fine.

Yes it does, GOD BLESS HIS DEVINE SOUL
Must have been a soft cock.
Maybe it was the start of the shift & he hadn't switched into "be a cunt mode" yet

You reckon?
The only HP coppers I've ever, and this hasn't happened many times, had give me a discount on a fine or, even more rarely, let me get away with just a lecture have been the younger ones.
The older ones, past about, say, their mid 30's have been the powertrippers.

yeh, I can relate to this for sure - i dropped my RD350 a couple of decades ago in town, almost in front of a patrol car - just slipped on some diesel as I rode out of a servo, nothing fast, nothing broken, but jeezuz did I cop an earful from the walloper about hospitals/death/you stupid bastards etc etc ad infinitum.......he went off his bean. Didn't book me, just gave me an absolute earful........

well i must be lucky, or maybe being a chick helps you alot, or just having your best mate in HWP and being pretty high up.
one day was pulled over with p plates on the car ( automatic magnet) failur to stop at stop sign failure to indicate and also doing a rolling burnout, pretty much i woudl of been screwed, the HWP officer that pulled me over happened to know that i was friends with his senior officer and basicly stood there talking to me on teh side of teh road for about 20 min and let me go with not eve a warning, i think he forgot what eh pulled me over for after talking about cars and what mods had been done, which is none and that i should do some to my car and that he woudl help me.
basicly i like the cops around here.

Yep, the longer you spend doing the job, the more you hear the same excuses over and over again, the more bodies you pick up off of the road, the less tolerant you get.

I once had coppers follow me into the underground car park of the joint I was working at to book for me for riding a pushbike with no helmet. Copper asked me why I had no helmet on, explained I had recently broken my ankle, my helmet is in Geelong and I work in Melbourne and just came back from physiotherapy.
Copper replied that "we get all sorts of excuses". My reply was don't ya think it's a pretty fucking good one on the spur of the moment type thing and asked him to call the hospital to confirm I had been attending physiotherapy.
Wrote me the ticket instead, $15. Last I saw it that ticket was around $71 due to icnreased costs and shit, never will pay it.

A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
