Ok so I fitted the new genuine exhaust system, couldn't handle the sound so the yoshi system has been refitted...
Didn't really like the aftermarket carbon look so I stripped it down and hit it with the spray gun, what do you guys think?
Looks a little more genuine which is the look I was after but she still sounds sweet.

I like the new exhaust. You have got the best of both worlds. Genuine look with after market sound and wieght.
That is the best looking ZX7 I have seen for some time. Especially when to consider it is a P1 and ont one of the later models.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback, I absolutely love this bike.... I am sure you have noticed!
Its actually a 2/97 build so it's a P2 not P1 but that doesn't worry me , would love to import a
N1 or N2 RR and have that as a project bike as I am running out of things to do with this bike.
Carbon muffler in Black now just finishes it off, made a huge difference.. Will keep the stock
system so I have a 100% original bike , will just leave it hanging on the wall rather than on the bike.

I am getting sick of you showing off with your ZX7. It makes me feel bad when I look at my very tired ZXR.
If it is a P2 why the P1 paint? Just curious.
I have an old AGV poster of Anthony Gobert on a ZX7at the Island somewhere. It is a great colour scheme.
Also if you are running out of things to do you can borrow the ZXR L1 for a couple of months. I am happy for you to return it looking brand new.

P1 & P2 Green white & violet are the same... P3 onwards is different.
Only sticker I have on mine that is not normally on a P2 is the " Kawasaki " on the front fairing which I
reckon looks good so I ordered it and chucked it on.
In regards to sending me your old girl, no drama's if your happy to pay for the parts and expenses...LOL
I love having something to tinker with and think I am going to need a new project soon unless I take this
restoration to the next level and totally strip it down and start again..
Would love a L1 myself, if only I had a budget and a garage big enough...

Nice Job, I'm jealous.
I've done up a 94 ZXR 750 & frustrated that I can't get those Chinese fairing sets, seems like they start at the ZX7R's, is that from 95 onwards ?
I know there are other fairing makers but none all painted & marked.
Unless anyone knows otherwise?

Love the earlier ZXR's too, everything on my bike is Genuine Kawasaki other than the exhaust
which I do have hanging up on the wall.
Can't believe how much of a money pit these bikes become, only ever started as a " cheap " lol project
to keep me busy when I needed some thing to do.
Problem is you do one thing then something else looks like it needs to be done and it just keeps going
on and on.
I do have a few of the original parts all in good condition , I am just slowly replacing parts as some of
them are still available from Kawasaki still in Japan.

Removed the top triple clamp today and cleaned it up, looks amazing now... wish I had a before shot.
Also ordered new front brake discs last week, cant wait for them to arrive bugger they are x japan, will be
worth the wait.
