It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

Just been into MCAS in Liverpool to get a fog city for the new lid.
I bought the clear sucker but the transitional ones are $55.
Then again, do they sell anti fog stuff in Brisbane bike shops?

my xlite has one..its pretty good actually..i use the same visor day or nite..at nite its clear, in bright sunlight its darker..still not as dark as sunnies or a tinted visor tho, so i wear sunnies under it (i hate this, but id rather ride with visor up)...its a fog city too, so it stops the visor from fogging..works a bloody treat..

I just bought a clear Suomy FogCity sheild insert today for $19.95 at Maroochydore so I reckon Brisbane should have them.
I've been thinking about this. First up I read AMCN religiously and thoroughly and don't remember seeing specifically what you are talking about, although I do remember something about the fogcity one.
Secondly I can't see why anyone would bother making an aftermarket transitional visor when you can do it more easily with an insert. Why would someone want to make a different visor to suit all of the different helmet brands out there. You'd at least be looking at doing seperate visors for Shoei, AGV, Arai, Shark, Suomy, Laser etc. plus then all the different ones for each of their different models. That's just for the current models too, you'd still probably be wanting to cater for some of the older models.
The only other option might be that it was a specific manufacturer that was advertising, in which case a browse around some of their homepages might find something.

transitional visors ?
Hi Mile636
I just checked the AMCN collection - the issue you are looking for is Feb 23- Mar 8 2005 edition - Volume 54 # 16. The write-up is fairly brief, apparently these visor-inserts are UV-activated, and therefore won't react to streetlamps and headlights. Also 100% fog-free ( sound pretty good, might get one meself
You can get them from '...your local bike shop...' , or try contacting the distributors - NF Importers on (02) 9748 7781. These are the Fog City Hyper Optiks model, as an earlier post indicated. Good luck
Unfortunately ( for the missus
), I don't throw out old magazines..... ( AMCN 1980-present, Two Wheels Issue 1 - present, REVS 1973-end of print in 1995 ?? countless other 1-off Aussie, Pommie and US mags from late '60's to present. It is a hell of a library....)
regards
Dave
