6'4" ??? Have you grown 3" since the 2010 WSB round at Phillip Island ??

I am unable to provide any sort of objective comment on this topic. Being 6'1" and the owner of a 2005 ZX12R.......my experience of the ZX14 is limited to a couple of good long test-strops..... ;) ....but here goes anyway :kuda:

They are not much faster than a 12.
They are longer in the wheelbase.....and consequently slower in the tight stuff compared to a 12.
They have much better OEM brakes than a 12.
They are a bit cramped as far as leg room goes, compared to a 12.

I am the opposite........ I owned a 2006 ZX14 and have only had one decent squirt on a ZX12R (2002-3 ish model, can't remember exactly about 5 years ago)

I'll toss my 2 bob in ;)
The 14 is a hell of a lot quicker in every gear
the 14 is a shit load lighter
the 14 handles like a 600 in the twisties compared to the 12
I'm a short arse and the 14 has got heaps of leg room..........

Just go and ride them all then find the one you prefer, but of course it would have to be a K :kuda:

I had a 12 and did heaps of kays, just loved it. Problem was a small tank so couldnt get too much over 220kms before empty. I hated having to stop all the time. I bought a 14, problem solved went further, quicker, turned and stopped better than the 12 but somewhat more civilised. It didnt have the mongrel  that the 12 had and I missed that.

The 14 did have a recall to check the frame/bolts or something, cant remember but was no drama, otherwise all good. Fitted full yoshi, power commander and pulled the secondary flies (dont they are fitted on newer models). Yep it went through tyres but you dont buy a bike to look at it eh??

You just gotta get whatever floats your boat

I have to disagree with you Gos. 12's steer Like shopping trolleys compared to 14's...... And I've ridden one that was well set up too. A stock 14 still stops and turns better.

I said they stop better mate. No arguments there.......in fact they stop so good I had to fit the same calipers ;)

Not convinced at all that they are better in the tight stuff than a 12 though.......a good strop down Hotham would sort the wheat from the chaff......

My 07 ZX14 was recalled to have engine mount tension checked as this was the issue causing the frame to crack. if its had the check done it will be marked with a punch mark on the headstem on frame. A ZX14 chews fuel and chews tyres. It is not a bike for commuting on.
07 ZX14 - How fast ?? As fast as i want to go !!

i have both bikes ,zx12r /zzr14 the 14 dropped a valve bigstyle the camchain tensioner gave up ,this happened to my mates aswell ,they rattle on start up,change them for a zx12r modified tensioner, heres a couple of photos ,the 12r has 80thou on clock ,far better for twistys than the 14 ,the 14 was like a bed of springs ,now awaiting a supercharger for the 14 ,
