Re: Tyre question?
My nine made quick work of Q2s so if you get 2000 ks of spirited riding on a zx14 i will be very surprised

Re: Tyre question?
M5s are the new version of M3s and are better again. I had one set of Q2s on the ZRX and the rear was munted on the way back from Philip Island when it was brand new at the start of the trip, so less than 2000km.

Re: Tyre question?
Hi guys,
Just my 2 cents worth....
Everyone is asking what tyres are good to tip in and go around the bends....
If you want the front end to tip in and turn better.....
Have you thought about increasing the rake angle??
Heighten your rear end somewhat with the rear suspension, just a few degrees...
Did that with mine and found a huge difference with my cornering capabilities and speeds!
I know you need the grip, but, turning it in isnt all about the tyres...
Just my thoughts... not meaning to open a can of worms...lol
Bridgestones ANY time with me though...

Re: Tyre question?
I think you mean decreasing your rake. Decreasing the rake also decreases front end grip, so as it tips in faster, it also loses front end stability.cally wrote:Hi guys,

It is a very common thing to do (and in fact, both of my bikes have had that done to them) but often people don't understand the total effect it has on their bike.

Re: Tyre question?
Good comment, as with all my barges they have had numerous attempts at sorting the geometry, in the end it is a case of being happy with what you can get out of it. Spent big coin on Ohlins customised shocks, re valved forks and suspension professionals, different tyres/profiles, pressures and damping settings, riding styles etc. I even tried tank foam.
Meh at the end of the day it is a barge and wont ever handle like a ZX10 but i can deal with what I can get out of it, she goes great for the road and can still hunt down those pesky litre bikes
