Jamie was leading the first race by a country mile when he tipped it into turn 1 and the bike went into neutral forcing him to miss the corner. The race officials have ruled that anyone buggering up turn 1 needs to go through pit lane to rejoin the race.
Not sure how far back this put Jamie but he was obviously pissed off as he was charging extremely hard and managed to take second.
I caught up with him in the pits afterwards but he wasn't too keen on hanging around to chat. I dunno if that's because he can't stand people from KSRC or if he was extremely annoyed with himself for missing out on the perfect opportunity to take that first win.
The second race was action packed. Krusty took the early lead but Giles and Jamie battled it out for second. Giles got a hole in his radiator and ended up having to retire but on the very next lap the red flags came out due to some stones on the circuit coming out of the last corner onto the straight. In the pits Giles jumped onto his spare bike and Jamies crew located a small leak in his radiator forcing Jamie to jump onto his spare bike. Jamie only just made it out of the pits and onto the grid for the restart.
The race was restarted with 11 laps to go with Krusty on pole and Jamie in second. Jamie took the hole shot but ran off the track into the southern hairpin. By the time he got back onto the track he was in last place. Some hard charging saw him finish in 7th.
hmm krusty was leading the 1st race by a mile wen he ran off in turn 1 and ended up finishing back a bit...the race that was stopped was awesome, brooks was charging thru to catch krusty & giles b4 it got red flagged...was an awesome day in the end...jamie(honda man) turned up at 9am to wake me up & drive my lazy ass out, so i was happy as a pig in shit...great day really...

Jamie told me that he saw you after the first race and he was still in disbelief over what had just happened (he was also on his way to the WC). He had no doubt that he had it won when the bike popped out of gear into neutral in Turn One and you know the rest of the story. He had a real good chance at 1st or 2nd in the second race before the red flag came out. They had the tire warmers on and ready to go when they saw the radiator was leaking so they changed tires to his back up bike and off he went. Leading into the first turn, the back came around and off he went again. He was pretty devastated for a couple of days but is OK now and looking forward to Winton. He's also sending me some of the KSRC stickers so I can give one to Josh Hayes.[/quote]
