Looking at ZZR600 to replace my GPX250

I reckon wait until the new american 05' ZZR comes here, looks excellent and has the ZZR ergos and the ZX6R power.

I didn't know about this - when is it happening?

I have checked on that and Neither Parra Kawa or the head office can or will give me info on if or when it will get here.

Collette....just look at the Kawa usa site..It's an awesome looking upgrade

I think it will come out priced to compete with the CBR600F though, which will put it 2k out of my reach. Thats if they don't rename it something else and make up a completely new price.

I just rang Kawasaki again trying to get to someone else. They said the American model is the old ZR6 and will not be coming to Australia. And the current model ZZR600 will remain as is.

This is cool by me as it means i will get my new one for the current price.

as good as the z750 is it might be too tall and bit too much grunt to step up from a 250. They're known for being a bit of a wheelie beast.
But $9850 ride away is very tempting

The "ten year old technology" is great - look at a 10+ year old ZZR. What's wrong with it? Absolutely nothing. It's like a time machine, telling you they're bulletproof.

So buy a new one and enjoy 10+ years of trouble free motorcycling.

I made the step from a GPX250 to a GPX600, which is essentially the model prior to the ZZR600 name being introduced. The thing has had a really hard life but hasn't missed a beat. I cover 500-1000kms every week which is a combination of the commute to work, daily duties, pointless rides just because I'm bored, and a belt through the hills & the country each weekend.

You won't go wrong with a ZZR600... that said the point regarding the Z750 is a very good one and you should certainly consider one of those as well.

The 12G is all i can go for, the GPX is only 9 weeks old with 4000 on the clock, but can't give the power i need on Mona Vale rd at 90.

I am selling my car for 12g and then will sell the GPX, and use the money to pay out the loan i currently have on the GPX.

The ZZR is the way to go though i think, i need something comfy

we were talking in here a few months ago..the usa version of the zzr is the old 98-02 version of the zx6r...sorry i was late to read this post, or i coulda told u we wont b getting it here (mick or TY did sum research abt 6 months ago)....then again honda brought back the cbr600f again as a tourer version of the 600 market....

I think you will see Kawasaki change its "Tune" and I think you will see it here eventually. With the bouyant bike market here and if the fact that if sells well in the US ( Dont know how well its selling ) they would be crazy not to bring such a well rounded bike here.

Dont know if they would call it the ZZR600 though? maybe its a marketing thing seeing how popular the original is here they might upset the hardcore dedicated ZZR owners? no offense to you ZZR guys, don't know how y'all would feel?
