I'm only new to bikes so there would be others on here that know better than I but as far as breaking in goes there appears to be many different schools of thought, I looked into it last year when I bought a new 250, from what I can gather it's best to mix up the rev's (high and low but not redline or allow it to labour) and speeds to try and make it wear in evenly.
Dont want to change this thread in to another 'breaking in thread' so...
