back between 14-18 i wanted to be a highway copper, purely because my attention span is that short, that doing the same thing day in day out without any excitement, causes me to get bored with work, and generally without a job.

but some very stupid drunk decisions, and association with the other type of "bike riders" put an end to that dream very quickly.

so now here i am, with a record, trying to find a job that i can call a career, without having a hsc. hmm.

Cheers,
Ruffy.

When I grow up...

In reality, from 6-15 I wanted to be a stunt man. From then to 18 I wanted to be a systems analysis. But the prospect of 7 years programming bored me. Being a music fan I did a weeks work experience a Metal Hammer, found my calling and went back to school. I now have a degree in journalism/photography and have spent 10 great years in my dream job.

Kids changed that, and here I am on the corporate ladder. I'd trade back in a heartbeat, and may do once the kids have finished school (3 years).

Without any hesitation I said a pensioner :kuda:

You see I've seen my grandparents had all the time on the world, didn't have to work so that suited me just fine.... ;)
Hang in there Pete, you've almost made it   :kuda: :kuda: :P :P

I always wanted to be in IT. The loss of my father at 16 years of age changed that - I left high school halfway through year 12 and got myself an electrical apprenticeship to help the old cheese make ends meet.

14 years later I'm the Electrical Manager for the largest complex in the southern hemisphere. Kinda worked out OK.
