My z leaked there also a little.

My 04 zx10r did
And my 06 zx10r does.

I've never worried about it.
Mine leaked more than a little bit - headers were covered and stream of oil running down the fender ;)

Just had a phone call from Bikeworx here in Hobart. I dropped my 2007 ZX6 off this morning after noticing the oil leak last week.

They have confirmed the repair IS under this recall and will they'll change the gasket and the bolt washers as part of the authorised repair. I have also asked them to check the valves and the shims so they will also get to this before it's returned.

Hopefully this should alleviate the oil leak and the bike will get a service whilst it's there.

Thank you all for your guidance here....pays to know people who know stuff!!

Cheers! :kuda: :D

Very briefly, what are the valve buckets?

I'll give them a call this morning to ask that they do a check on these little suckers.....

Cheers.

For those of you interested, I am due to collect my bike tomorrow following the valve cover gasket repair.

The repair bill consists of the following:

Valve cover gasket and o-rings (authorised Kawasaki repair)
11k handbook service, all parts and labour inclusive
Valve and gap inspection, check for any signs of unusual wear and valve bucket inspection. (All ok)

$225.

Sound reasonable?

Yeah that's good, my valve adjustments At the same time as the rocker cover gasket kit cost me $100. You got $75 worth of oil and filter plus a Handbook service for $125.
