I don't think so Phil. Stoner has asked for proof that these reduce the number of serious accidents and if it doesn't they will be removed.

Absolutely correct, however Stoner is 2IC and has been taking this line/ stance for sometime and his words are clear if there isn't evidence to prove that they reduce the road toll then they will be removed. Stoner I believe, if it was Barry I would be more skeptical.

Theres already a decent quantity of bitching in the comments on that telegraph page, amusing.
I await the outcome of this with great interest, it's easy to be cynical with just how much we've been bent over and fucked over by the presiding government.
One thing i am looking forward to is the transport portfolio no longer being used as a "training wheels" portfolio which ends up having a tail wag the dog instead of the other way around. At least make make sure it stays with someone whom has a fucking CLUE. Incumbent ministers have yet to prove themselves as far as I'm concerned.
