I definetely didn't see any maliciousness in it, but it was definetely negligent. For that reason I think Rossi's points should be taken. It's one thing to make a mistake, but I think most of us could tell from a mile out that he went into the corner way too hot. I don't think there is any chance in hell that he would have gotten away with it in V8 or F1. Although it's been so long since I've seen F1 I don't know what they are like anymore. I'm assuming they are still corrupt pricks who protect Italians at all costs, so maybe he would have gotten away with it .

bike racing almost never hands out penalties... rossi should have certainly been given a penalty when he punted ginernau at this very same track... he wouldnt have even made the turn but for using sete as a berm... they just never do anything in bike racing

I think Stoner may have been wiser in the aftermath to have bit his tongue and not said anything.He had the moral high ground but came across a bit Leytten Hewit like and had me cringing.
Anyhoo,its done now.Unfortunately for Casey there about three more races in Spain plus one or two in Italy this year.No favours from his new marshal friends .

After a few hours at work pondering this, a few things have come to mind.

Rossi seems to have more of these incidents than anyone else out there. Or am I imagining it?

It's apparent that Rossi has always had the best team and bike. We,ve never really seem him struggle like this. Even when he first road the M1 he was supprised how nice it was to ride, just a little down on power.

If the great man (albiet bad sport) is struggling on the Duke, how well was casey riding last year? This is even more apparent when you realise that the other ducati riders are all about the same place in the field as last year so the bikes place in the field must be about the same.

I think rossi's flambouyant personality and 9 titles hides the fact that he does not play well with others when there is a genuine challenge to him - eg. Gibenou, Stoner (previously), Lorenzo, Melandri. You could put him the same league as John McInroe, Mike Tyson, Floyd Landers etc..... awsome athelets, but just not good honorible sportsman.

And people lauded Lorenzo for being cautious and leting everyone else fall over, yet when Casey did exactly the same thing (as he did in Qatar) people are saying that Rossi had his number anyway. The way he goes out hard and if he can't get away will drop back and have a look at the others is classic casey. I'm sure he had it under control. And if he is as good as i think he is this year, he has plenty of time to recover.

in any sport once you become grumpy/nasty it is a sure sign to retire

Although i'm a bit pissed I dropped 18 spots in the tipping comp I think it is good for MotoGp. It has taken that boring predictability away from what we have seen in the past. Who's not going to watch the next race, ay!
