Buy a 2010 model and ask someone to add trackion control and ABS - I bet it'll coast more than $5K!

There both stupid fast you will never (maybe) be able to out ride them. and 5k of mods on a 2010 can get alot of nice stuff or save another 5k and get a 08 model

Kawasaki ZX-10R 2008 - R77 Yoshi full system, PC3 Custom Mapped, Benneli bar end mirrors, Puig Double Bubble, Radiator protector, CircuitOne Mirror blanks, Pazzo levers, Shift-I, etc

The price i paid for my 09(practically brand new bike..see: http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 13&t=33589) was a hell of a lot more than 5k difference!
Ticks all the boxes for me & came under my budget i was allowing for an upgrade so i was very happy with the outcome.

The 2011 ZX10R is an amazing bike to ride...there was a recall on early release models.(power drop off)..that might explain early trial times not being that great, maybe?
I think it has the best looking dash to date!
It's probably the most agile 1ltr out there.....i pick mine up this week...then off to the track!

The real deal is a second hand 08-10 versus a new 2011 as Ninja depreciation is ferocious. The 11 has a far smoother engine and more comfortable riding position so you wouldn't buy a new 10 but save up instead for a 2011 or wait for the secondhand market. I guess the electronics have a benefit but my experience is you set it and leave it. Only an idiot needs someone to say you drop the power in the wet! I rode mine down to PI and back for WSBK and the only aftermarket assessory that is needed is my new Air Hawk seat cover - marvellous for skinny bums that want to tour and half the cost of a seat reconstruction.

Ok, picked up my 2011 ZX10R today, My trade in was an 08 ZX10R
After riding the new ZX10R for a few hours, I can say...There is no comparison between these two bikes!
Everything about the new ZX10R is an improvement over previous models...And as for switching power modes i think its a kool way of saving petrol when you dont need the extra power!...But some people may prefer riding in a particular mode...Nice to have an option.
The new ZX10R is a generation ahead.
I can not wait to get this bike on the track!
...No Cheques...Just Cash!, Hoffy
Greenmeanie...Great colour combo on your bike...Congrats!

Sounds awesome I have no doubt that it is just even more refined and fast than the previous Generations, but to be honest my mates Gen 1 2005 zx10 with a Akro slip on and PC3 with custom map is the scariest bike i have been on the wheelbase being so short and agro it just wants to kill you all the time, makes my Gen 3 feel sedate (which it isn't it still tries to kill me just not as obvious haha)kawasaking wrote:Ok, picked up my 2011 ZX10R today, My trade in was an 08 ZX10R

The 2011 is deceptive in everything it is and does it all very well.
Cant wait and see what the PCV/AT and Akra can/link pipe will do to it
I like the rim stickers, TBH I wouldn't ordinarily put it on myself.

From having been on a ride with one, I can tell you that once on their side the line they hold is very tight. They also appear as though changing direction is a mere thoguht process rather than any real physical effrot.
Fuuck, it took ten minutes to type that...I'll be back when I can focus again!

There was only one burning question that needed to be answered.... "2011 ZX10r vs BMW S1000RR"
WHICH IS FASTER?

Re: Is the 2011 zx10 a 5 grand better bike than a 2010 zx10
Which is the better bike?
The buying price for my "2011- 10" was less than $2500 difference than the "2010 - 10"
IMO the 08,09,2010 Kwaka zx10r's are the ugliest sport bike Kawasaki has produced!
The Gen 1 was an animal. Gen 2 was "refined." Gen 3 is a better allround rider's bike.
My Gen 4 2011 "10" is by far the more aggressive looking, it has more power( I need that extra power.......YEH, RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!).
It is an experience/joy to ride it...................very well behaved, think corner and it falls into that corner.
The guy down the road rides the BMW10000RR.....................his bike is faster???????????
I ride the Kwaka ZX10R.................................................my bike is faster????????????
Which bike is faster.....................................................who has the bigger tackle box??
All the bikes mentioned above are great, each with it's own character.
As the saying goes " horses for courses"
Your choice...................finances might be the decider?
