There was a sticker on "tiggr's" tank about 95 plus only, but it was ugly so i pulled it off. I think Yankee did the same with his. maybe not ..... mind you it was running clean today Marty , when you gonna service my bike mate ?.

Like Rusty mentioned, don't take notice of the US guys fuel ratings, it's RON vs. MON (google is good)

RON and MON, we use RON which is higher...
http://www.btinternet.com/~madmole/Reference/RONMONPON.html

RON MON PON
90 83 86.6
92 85 88.5
95 87 91
96 88 92
98 90 94
100 91.5 95.8
105 95 100
110 99 104.5

How many different brands of fuel do we really have here? I'm not talking about the stickers on the tankers, but where do they get their fuel from? Where do the storage depots get theirs from?

I've heard lot's of people dissing Optimax reckon it's crap, yet when my sister was working for Shell when it was released. Before they made it public, they were filling a select few servo's with it and not telling. She was receiving phone calls and letters / emails from people wanting to know what they did to their premium and please don't change it back, but still I hear how crap it is.

Don't fill up when a tanker has just filled the tanks until everything has had time to settle again either. Fill up at servo's with a high turnover too so there's less chance of getting stale fuel.

That's because it is crap! I used to have a Shell servo close to my old house and used to fill up there most of the time. The Optimax stuff would often make my bike cough, fart, splutter and carry on. After this happened 3 or 4 times and I worked out it was doing it everytime I put that crap in my tank, if I had to use Shell, then I would only use their standard unleaded stuff.

Who knows if it still does it to my bike, but I aint gonna try it to find out.

I tried a few freeway runs, and got 280k to the fuel light on BP unleaded, 295k on the Premium and 305 on the ultimate. the route was the same, times of day were the same and I tried to keep the speeds the same - but the ultimate seems to pick up a bit quicker  Shell makes it jump around like a kangaroo - or is that my clutch control :P
