its a bit bizarre. In Vic in 2009 1/2 the deaths were riders between 30 and 50 rather than young guys.

so the perception that its young untrained guys killing themselves is a bit wrong. might be untrained older riders or returning riders though.
they give a rolling 12 month toll so they compare the same year (eg June to June). the 5 year average is 43 and we are at 49 this year, which is higher but can be explained by the natural variation in these things.

"Head on, not overtaking". So that's the Pajeros and LandCruisers driving towards me over double whites in the Dandenongs last weekend. I assume they'll get tougher training too?
