Try compressing it with winrar and splitting the file to segment sizes that will be acceptable to your isp. Just remember that when you attach files to emails you have to account an extra 30-40% at least in file size as files increase in size by around that much when attached as they are converted from binary to ascii and that has an overhead.
If it hurts, you aren't doing it right.
