Yeah that's a pain in the butt but at least it doesn't go all over the headers. The problem is though that if a knob in a bike shop over tightens the filter you can't use the old "punch a screw driver through it" method

With permission and specific instruction from Wattie since being banned from unsupervised work on my own bike , I stripped her down somewhat and got the alternator cover off. Solenoid undamaged Just awaiting new cover & gasket. No other visible damage to the motor or radiator

Yes...and it does present front and centre on the barge to the point where it's just asking for this deserving punishment !!

The oil filter on the six however is buried at the top of the engine, mind you there appears to be heaps of space at the front of the engine
