Have been hearing the government ads on the radio about this, so it's definitely happening.

This is a good WA site I discovered for explanation of radar technology. It has a lot of weaknesses provided we are aware of the shortfalls it seems?

yep they are back
mobile speed camera this afternoon both sides of Taren Point bridge
no warning,,no kerb side signage prior to mobile cameras....they were pulling over cages like there was no tommorow...the only hint was a green commodore both sides and directly infront of these cars..yes cameras on tripods....about 100 metres after there they were.. 4 off us only happened to not be a victim was fellow riders signalling us on the bridge...not that we were breaking any speed barriers anyway....anyone else saw any today?

I don't think this was the new mobile speed cameras, Greg. Probably Radar and/or Rego recognition cameras.....greg wrote:yep they are back![]()

Definitely the old coppers with radar. Of the two i would rather them than the "silent assassin" method with it being sent out in the mail, if for no other reason you have a chance of talking down a ticket if your nice to a copper. No such luxury with a camera.
Then again my preference over the both of them is police actively out and patrolling, but at least they were showing high levels of visibility in their efforts.
I'm glad i wasn't out and heading that way today, i still usually do 90 across that bridge. I guess some people couldn't handle the idea of braking after the bridge to take the corner/avoid the concrete barrier. Which in itself isn't that hard.

Redflex Traffic Systems Pty Ltd is regarded as a world leader in gouging and providing 'end-to-end' traffic camera systems and services that improve Government revenue's vastly. The business has a reputation as a leading bunch of bastards within its industry, both nationally and globally.
The company's technologies are making Governments rich in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Middle East, Europe and the U.S.A.
Your challenge is to reduce the standard of living in New South Wales. You’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing soup kitchens. As a Mobile Camera Operator, you will be working to support the successful ripoff of drivers who exceed the speed limit by as much as a whopping 3 kph.
Full Time & Part Time positions are available in the following areas:
* Based in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Grafton, Parkes and Wagga Wagga.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ATTRIBUTES REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
* Well developed communication and interpersonal skills. (as you will read a lot of magazines and newspapers)
* Ability and willingness to work (term used loosley) irregular shift rosters.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure. (It's very stressful sitting on your own after all)
* Possess reasonable computer and/or technical skills. (my 3 yr old uses a digital camera)
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. (don't want to miss the specials in the paper)
* Some knowledge of digital photography. (although it's fully automatic)
* You must have and maintain a current New South Wales drivers licence. (Don't get caught yourself you idiot's)
* You will be required to undertake a medical examination. (To see if you can stomach fast food)
* You will be required to also pass a Police Record Check and a Traffic Offences Check. (ever lost a demerit?...you're out mate)
* Extensive training will be provided. (2 minutes required)
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:
You must have and maintain a current New South Wales drivers licence. (previously discussed)
You must have exceptional communication skills in spoken English. ( as camera's talk now)
If you have no skills, no attributes and and no sense of justice whatsoever and are willing to provide vast sums of revenue to New South Wales, then please apply to: kingofthepricks@redflex.com.au and quote Reference Number A2Z 696.
