Hand brakes on a car don't use the hydraulics they use cables and i would have thought they did that so that the hydraulic system isn't under pressure for long periods.

One good point is they can easily cut the brake hose and wheel it away, so a disc lock is still the way to go i think.

I like the siren one mike-s got, might get one as well.

They look pretty good, if you read the details the brake is only applied if you adjust it accordingly, so it does not automatically apply the front brake. Personally I wouldn't use that component of it for long periods. The actual antitheft component is that 1 you can not use the throttle and 2 you can not use the brake.

Personally I have a kryptonite lock and cable.

-1 x Xena motion sensor disc lock (you know it's there when you get on so no farked fender/disc if you forget the disc lock!?)
-1 x 'trade snake' with lock secured to big fark off hi tens' chain cemented 500mm in shed floor :shock:
-1 x Alarmed/ monitered shed/workshop
-2 x trained killer guard cats :D

I just keep the thing in lots of pieces. If they can be bothered to scour the garage to find everything then they really want it bad. And that's saying something.

I do have a disc lock and one of those u-bolt things that you dyna-bolt to the floor and a stainless steel wire cable and big padlock for it, Oh and a nut job dog. But i'd probably be lucky if the old girl got nicked as the missus would see how sad I was and buy me a new bike :D
