The only mono restrictor is the tool behind the handlebars, any bike can mono, even postie bikes & scooters.
Go to a remote location where there is no one around & practice getting the bike up.... as in balance point.
If you can master that without destroying your new bike in the process then you are doing allright.
Oh & yes they make it look easy on youtube & in extreme videos but you have to practice a shit load to mono properly
& not look like a fool or possibly in your case a tool.
Here is a hint get an old dunger & wreck that in the process & not your new bike
Oh & WTF do you want to Mono anyway? its a great way to get your bike impounded & your licence cancelled, for what?
so you look cool or to impress your future girlfriend? what a waste of time

ZX10's are the same. If you get a chance to ride one just rev the fucker to about 10k and dump the clutch and hold the throttle flat. They pop up for a millisecond then just die in the arse, it's like an awesome version of launch control

I think you should let Rod have a go on the Z and see if he can sort the issue out.

Somehow I think it will have no problem at all.
I know mine used to do ok.
You also need to change your bike in your profile.

Disco, HTFU, the Z's chuck wheelies in 1st gear, ju7st take off and keep it pinned in 1st, about 8-9000 revs they just come up.

They also clutch up in second Wattie.

The reason I recommended Rod is I reckon he could hold the Z at the balance point for miles. They are just like a motard.

yeah it's called skill.
you'll need to learn how to clutch control it. At least I had to on the my CBR when I was on my L's. Much like a dirt bike but with less guts and more expensive bits to break

I popped a mad mono on my CBR250 a short while after I got it. Taking off from a mates place, revved it up, dropped the clutch without thinking too much and the front came up... started to wobble towards a parked car, packed my pants and only just missed out on destroying my bike.
Came back to my mates and they said "sick mono, yeah that was awesome".. still to this day they don't know it was by accident and I had no idea what I was doing

yeah but then the future missus would get the shits and leave ya so you still got nothing.
and btw you are wasting your time. mine will only lift a poofteenth when gear changing. so its not worth it. However my yz250 will do em with ease. thats a better cheaper option couldn give a rats about a dirt bike being dropped.

well... its a 250 which weighs about 200 kgs, then you sit on it and thats about 300kgs with an awesomely ball tearing 27 kw off power.
But if your keen... rip off your rear cowl, put on the passenger seat, roll along about 20km/h, sit right back on the passenger seat, clutch in, rev it up to about 12-13k rpm and dump the clutch.
Let me know what happens

Hey, pull up a bit there will ya. It's a bit irresponsible to be offering newer riders incomplete advice like that. You should have mentioned that it's way easier if you stand on the pillion seat, or using your knee is even better. Also, if you need to change direction at all while in the wheelie, just take one foot off the pegs and the bike will turn easily. Let me know what happens too will ya!
