Fluid has been flushed and replaced. Bled as per normal. Bled from bango fittings. Lever tied back to bars. Lever pumped continuously for over 5 mins with no air appearing in reservoir. Vaccum / suctioned through system.
Still they refuse to give a firm lever.
At this point I am thinking a MC overhaul since everything else has failed to produce results.
Adrian, no good asking Mick (he has as much mechanical knowledge as my dog )
The following had me crying for days as I just couldn't get a decent "feel" to the lever
did you have a look at the metal backing the pad material is attached to ?
I've had one before that was bent, this was causing the disk carrier to be "pulled into shape" before the pads started to bite
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
So I bought me some CRC brake cleaner today, spose i'll give it a hiding tomororw with the (probably vain) hope I might not have to pull the whole thing apart as i'm bound to lose a bolt or fuck things up somehow.. can't do any harm can I?
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
All I would do is slide some cardboard or newspaper up between the back of the caliper and the wheel to stop the wheel & tire getting a big blast of brake cleaner. Also take off the anti rattle clip from the back of the caliper so you can get better access, and if you are a bit keener take the calipers off (leave the hoses connected) and pull the pads out to give even better access. When you have used up your brake cleaner, give averytning a good hose off, reassemble and hopefully it has made some difference (for the better).
Bring it down Saturday arvo when you come to watch the Geelong/Colliwobbles game on the Bigscreen and I'll fix her up
I know a liitle trick with the seals and have pulled apart many a cylinder.
I stopped mine squeeking easy enough........I just threw it down the road and it don't squeek anymore
Got em re-bled yesterday lever is a lot former now, still a bit of travel but firm at least and i'm coming down for the GF, not the PF. Booked my leave and all don't wanna waste it on Collingwood!

Doe's it say "racist" on it by any chance?
Assuming your reading the same threads of course
I have recently replaced all the seals in my calipers, I also have a new piston etc for the master cylider but I havent installed that yet.
I noticed a little improvment immediately and it got better as the brakes bedded back in.
I did it with the help of Tim (GPX750R) it wasnt hard you just need tools and some lateral thinking
For some reason the same calipers on the ZRX feel sooo much different
Master Cylinder diameter maybe Phil?????

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?
Well 2 days after the re-bleed the song retunred back to it's former self, spongy again, gonna call a bloke tomorrow re a master cylinder seal kit, got fuck all to lose, might be time to call Awesome discs and get some new rotors for the front too.

MC as you are now looking at...........as wobbles suggested .......have same prob with the 250..............but ever so slowly lose pressure ....so dont really notice till .........oops i'm half way through intersection and my right index finger is crushed......trying to stop at a revenue camera (VIC) is it lack of general maintenance on an old bike (how dare i mick) hence the MC .......we all bleed drain fluids etc over period.....but mc never checked for propper seals
where's that back yard big end mechanic
