Re: evolution of a postie
Here's an idea. We've all got spare bits lying around that we'll probably never use. Whatever we've got that we don't want any more lets whack it up here and see if it can be used on the postie project.
I'll go through the garage this weekend and see what I've got

Re: evolution of a postie
just lying around you say?
I think that might be beyond my abilities. Plus I'd definitely have to chock it up with new wheels or shocks to get the ground clearance

Re: evolution of a postie
A mate of mine is playing with a postie bike also.
From what I noticed he's put on a staintune pipe, pod filter and different bars with bark busters. I'll ask him a bit more when I speak to him next and take a pic also.
have fun.

Cool - but what are bark busters?
Be good to see a pic of the staintune - I haven't found much locally yet.

Re: evolution of a postie
I have put a set on every serious dirt bike I have had.
They help prevent lever breakage and especially your hands being whipped by those fast moving bastard tree branches (how dare they move so fast) or from having the"bark" taken off your hands or broken bones when smackin your way through the bush scraping bark off trees etc, bouncing off stuff as you do
.. Hence the name "barkbusters". Also good to minimise wet and cold.
Been around for decades and a must have for that kind of riding.
pictures say it all.

Also good for pushing slow bastards off the track with a wack to the rib cage on the way through
Just kidding
wack'em in the elbow is far easier and they steer off the track themselves

forget a big bore kit, think of the possibilitiesty wrote: - big-bore kit
instert 500cc + motor into a postie. That would be a very feral delivery device

Re: evolution of a postie
Jonno - thanks for the explanation
zx-10r - as per this thread - http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 21&t=24113 - I was thinking of a replacement. But it was suggested a big-bore kit would be best (it's also cheaper)

Re: evolution of a postie
I'm intimidated now - that's insane. I don't think I'll be doing anything that extreme - but who knows I guess
Sorry I'm not working fast enough
probably feel like you're watching the kettle boil.
Things will happen, but slowly
I've seen pictures of both turbo and NOS mods - baby steps, big bore first. (is that a baby step?)
