That is a FACT about the mono's. Late rmodels worse than the first due to different mounts.

Just because you can ride, doesnt mean you should. My reason on this earth is an example to others what NOT to do.

if you want to check the tyre being out of round. take a photo of the tyre from directly above and compare the profiles. I had the shakes on my gpx750 and it turned out that freeway work + camber had worn the tyre and shifted the centreline to the left 5-7mm. Hilarity ensued before i noted this fact and the bike stayed in the garage until i took the (very short, under 3km) trek to my local for a new pair of hoops.

I'll have to investigate a similar issue, but mine's when the bike is compression-braking with no hands on the bars (On private property of course! ) the front bars and wheel start shaking, only with no hands tho ;)

When compared to an RZ500 maybe!?

1 . Listen to Gos  (proviso we keep away from home brew octane enhancements everything's fine      )
2. As mentioned , has the bike been binned ?? ie cracked headstem / weld / bearings (see pic)
3. Wheel bearings OK?
4. CORRECT wheel / bearing spacers?
5. Irregular tyre wear / scalloping / out of balance?
