I got a set from from Aldi a while back.... $16 long pants, $16 short sleeve top...
There pretty good, and now I have a 1 piece suit they make entry and exit easier...
but I think they made me slower....

I hate trying to get in and out of leathers when I'm all sweaty. I'm going to have to check these out.

I do all of the above...does that make me less of a woman? hahaha

They say if it has tits or wheels, it'll give you trouble. I have both...that makes me dangerous!

Re: Skins
Just one thing to remember... When I was in iraq.. We were banned from wearing any form of skins or under armour (stretchy lycra shit) etc incase we got caught in a fire from the bomb blast etc as the stuff melts on to your skin... So I am guessing...if.. sorry when... you come off, if it's fast enough you might find the skins becoming your new skin. I know that the leather should protect you, however I also know people you have come off at speeds have complained that they felt alot of heat coming through their leathers as they slide along the tarmac...

Re: Skins
I tried out a 'friends' pair un my leathers on Sunday on the Wollombi ride and loved them (i think the guys got sick of me raving about them all day
).
Even better still....they were the $38 Slazenger version not the $150+ Skins brand and did exactly the same thing. Pick em up from Big W.
I'm hoping not to have the chance to try the 'melt on ya skin' effect
good point though. Same goes with some textile jackets....they can do the same if you have an off.

My skins are tight so i smear myself in margarine first and then slide into them...
It gets a bit hot when riding but the missus loves my "baked" smell when i get home.

Re: Skins
I wear Body Science Compression gear and there is a big difference between the good (ie expensive) and the cheaper stuff, mainly in how long it lasts or more accurately how many washes before it stretches. Under Armour is also good, it has a 'cool' range made for hot climates, but I can't get it at wholesale prices (yet)
I must look special walking around the pits with them on, black with white stitching
http://www.bsccompression.com.au/
If there is enough interest I can do a group buy on the Body Science gear at wholesale prices, $189 (plus postage) for the long pants and long top, retail price is $299
PM me if your interested, I would only need about 5 to do an order.

Re: Skins
I have used skins when playing soccer all of last season and I didn't notice them doing jack (much to jacks disappointment I'm sure). Never tried using them on the bike because there was a statement made by the makers at some stage that they are not designed for biking and the stitching will eventually give way. Of course, the may have been talking about cycling instead. Willing to give em a shot. Not that I wear leather except during winter.

Re: Skins
I buy the under armour from www.eastbay.com. I play American Football, so I get my stuff from the states and Under armour (UA) is great for football. One thing I noticed with UA after wearing skins is that the stiching in skins and BCS etc holds your body better... HOWEVER if you are a larger guy or have large calves and thighs like moi, the stiching will not stretch enough to allow you to put them pants on properly. Mine ripped slightly in 2 spots... on each leg, the same two spots and always in the stiching.
UA maks, hot & cold gear. the cold gear is like a combination of lycra and thermals. the hot gear is super thin, yet extremely strong lycra. I wear my UA lycra t-shirts at work everyday under my uniform. I always wear the UA or skins training gear at football training, gym training and also sometimes under leathers.
I bought both my boys (13 & 15) slazenger skins for their football training. They love them.
