Pull the guts out of your stock gumbie cans , insert straight core pipes , packing and end cap adapters etc..
Look stock but work / sound like aftermaket.

If you're just after looks/sound and leave the cat in, then just putting the cans on will be OK. If you gut the cat, you'll have to get a PC and have it tuned accordingly to get the best out of it.
I've got some Arrow cans, left the cat in and the throttle response is still as sweet as with the standard pipes on.

Yep, definately have to get a PCIII for them. Bike doesnt run so well with the slipons without tuning.

Digging up an old thread... There seems to be a few guys here with Akrapovic exhausts. I'm wondering what your opinions are regarding full systems vs slip ons? I'm not worried about the extra expense, just whether the full system kills rideability on the road in the lower rev range. I'm hoping to get to the track as often as I can but still want to enjoy the bike on the road which is where I'll do the majority of my riding. At the moment I'm leaning towards a full system plus PCIII and new air filter, but I'd love to hear some opinions from people who have the actual parts on the actual bike that I'm interested in.
...And yes, I did a search. I couldn't find anything specific regarding Akrapovics on the 07 ZX-10. Cheers guys!

I've got a full system, and I love it. Bike ran perfectly without any fuelling mods - not to say it couldn't run better still, but it was fine as a straight bolt-on.
Had it on the road, and it certainly didn't feel underpowered at low revs.
Cheers,
Brian
