N96 is supposed to be out sometime this quarter - though more likely next.
With 16GB internal RAM, and dual cpus, it may be a bit pricey - no-one seems to know yet
There's a decent comparison between the n95 and n96 at

Just on PDA's I've had an early dopod then two HTC's (including the One I think they call it) and now I've got an Iphone. We get them from Optus on Trial hence the turnover. I'm no techo but from a useability point of view if you want a phone that lets you get email, SMS, gives you access to your contacts etc and your not fussed about all the techo stuff, the Iphone shits on everything I've had so far. The bluetotth in your car is brilliant. The HTC's are pretty ordinary for bluetooth and we found syncing with the server at work was always a drama. The Iphone never misses a beat (so far)
Obviously not the thing for everyone but they work well. Would I buy one. probably not because they are expensive but they're pretty good

robracer wrote:Looks sweet Russ the technology is there but the Nokia has a 5 MPX camera with a carl zeiss lens & 8GB of internal storage
as compared to:
3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera for quality stills and video.
4GB of internal storage to preserve more photos, music, files and exchanged data than ever before.
Whats the damage on this one?
Yeah the camera on the N95 is definitely better but unfortunately I have been advised by my IT department that they cant get them to sync with our servers. They looked at getting one for everyone about a year back and using it as the phone of choice but they had countless communication issues and couldnt get them talking with our servers.
I like the idea of touch screen from the HTC and also it is alot more slim lined than the N95.
They are going for about $1099 from Telstra (telstra exclusive atm) but ebay has them unlocked for about $699

Gosling....
when i was in Iraq in 2006, cell/mobile phones where banned... it was the greatest feeling. No phone calls in the middle of dinner. No people calling just to see where you were, didn't feel naked for leaving my room without it. I loved it... Actually we only had 10 sat phones for a couple of hundred people to use to call home, so I didn't have to speak to anyone if I didn't want to as no one could call me!....... mmmm what a great feeling, incommunicado!
Came home and the misses basically had one waiting for me..

I'm hearing you! I often turn everything off just to get some space. Problem is you have half the world looking for you when you turn it back on!

I'm hearin' ya mate. I hate the fuckin' things. They are a royal pain in the arse. All this crap about 'having' to be in contact , fuck me are people grown up or what ?? Its like a fuckin' apron-string or a security blanket. Needed in an emergency when out on the road ?? Bullshit, most places out of the city are out of range.
When Phil hit the roo on the WSB trip last year, you could have made a bonfire out of all the mobile cocks out there for all the good they did. A quick trip to the nearest farmhouse, where a good old landline saved the day......
They are a huge waste of money, and a new sucker is born every day that lines up at Telstra to have their wallet arse-raped. Fuck me I hate the fuckin' things with a passion. Don't ever drive past me if you are talking on a mobile at the same time, I will follow you to wherever you park, rip the fuckin' phone out of your hands and shove it fair up your fuckin' arse. (not 'you' in particular BrisZX9R, its a generic reference...)
